EDH Garza Zol deck seems to coming along nicely after previously getting it's ass kicked.

Just needed more draw, counter, and a pinch more creature control.

Still have to be weary of King Friday's Putrefax + Her Generals "LOLGG" combo.

Infect + Rafiq is pretty brutal.

I guess it is.

I won a game with my Aladdin's Ring deck earlier.

I will repeat that.

I won a game with a deck based around Aladdin's Ring.

One of the worst artifacts I've ever seen.

And in a game I lost, I managed to ping a guy down to 9 life with nothing but one Rod of Ruin.

An Alladin's Ring deck? 0_o

What, do you have Tower of Calamities in there too for shits and giggles?

Why make a deck focused around Aladdin's Ring? Like the Chewbacca defense, it does not make sense.

Personally, I have to respect any deck build based around the premise "because I could".

Edit: Except gratuitously overpowered ones a la Hulk Flash. Ones based around extremely dodgy cards are A-OK.

Because I wanted to see if it could be done.

I sat around wondering how I could make it viable besides tons of Locus and Urza lands for the longest time before I hit on March Of The Machines + Training Grounds.

That and no one's insane enough to try this, which puts it solely in my purview, as the proud owner of a Morph deck, a Nightmare deck, a nearly-colorless Myr deck, a Sunburst deck, and a Thrull deck.

Plus, killing someone with a Rod of Ruin is hilarious.

[up]That's great that you keep it all interesting, I just couldn't understand why you would choose a terrible card as a focus for the deck but hey, c'est la vie.

A friend of ours has a fantastic Morph deck that works brilliantly in a chaos setting. He pretty much has a morph response to every type of threat and the opponent never sees it coming! Par one occasion he and I were playing a two-headed giant game in the same team, he completely forgot he had a response to the biggest threat that wiped us out.

I guess my most prized deck is my mono-white reanimation Angel control. It's legacy proof despite the high mana curve. I also have a "Knight Weenie" I made in conjunction with the release of Knight Examplar. I can appreciate the fun in making something different.

Like I said, because I wanted to see if it could be done. [lol] (Answer: sorta.)

I think my "prized" deck is my monoblack lifedrain fuck-the-world control. Easily my strongest, but it's not terribly interesting; for interesting, three-way tie between Sunburst, morphs, and Ninja.

I was playing a game of MTG with my bestest bud a few days back, the first we had both played in years. He was using a Black-Artifact deck and I was using a modified Boros deck. He had two life left when he completely screwed me over and found the centerpiece of his entire deck: The goddamn Reaper Demon. Freaking goddamn son of a- He wiped out the entirety of my significant number of deployed individuals just by being put into play. For those of you who are not familiar with this particular card from hell, it's description says something along the lines of: "When deployed, all non-black and non-artifact creatures are removed from play and cannot be regenerated." After that game, we both decided that I would not use Akroma's memorial and he would not use the Reaper Demon.

While my preferred colors are UW, the deck I'm most proud of is UR Pauper Faeries. It's incredibly efficient, and it performs quite well against a variety of decks. It's also the only control deck I own that other people don't complain about; the other control decks I own are competitive level, with all the money costs that implies.

@Pyroninja: The card your thinking of is Reiver Demon, and it doesn't prevent regeneration at all. It also costs eight mana and doesn't work when reanimated. It's pretty easy to combat by winning before your opponent gets eight lands out, or just by holding back some creatures and a removal spell.

I guess it is.

Reiver Demon does prevent regeneration.

Still, it's also one of the things that's hard about playing aggro; how many creatures do you need to commit to the field? Too few and the player on the defensive will cast his trump card, and too many and you walk into a three or four to one when the defending player casts a boardwipe.

That said, Nyktos is right. It's not that hard to deal with; there's plenty of white removal to do the job, and you were a bolt away from winning anyway.

Plenty of white removal? I've been away from MTG for a while and am unsure what you mean.

Swords to Plowshares, Faith's Fetters, Oblivion Ring, Path to Exile, and Journey to Nowhere are some of the better ones.

I remember it because I used to love that card when Ravnica first came out. Also because it's sooooooooooo good in EDH.

I guess it is.

I'll try to see if either me or him have one of those cards buried somewhere; thanks for the advice.

I am now contemplating the potential shenanigans associated with Hive Mind and Eternal Dominion.

The breakdown: Everyone is forced to copy Eternal Dominion. For the rest of the game, nobody can cast spells, only take permanents from their opponents' libraries and play them for free.

For best results include a Sigil Tracer with Followed Footsteps. Alternately, don't, because if you play the other combo first that WILL be used against you.
