Just post whatever comes to mind.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.
If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.
Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

Regarding the Monster Hunter movie, changing stuff is what Hollywood does. They take something that looks cool, and buy the movie rights. Then some executive says "Hey, I think it'd have more mass appeal if we added a cute animal sidekick/American setting/dabbing teenager/whatever." So they add that, and then a boss decides that something is too complicated, so it's dumbed down. Then, in order to give it family appeal, it's decided that the brutal action scenes need to be family friendly brutal action scenes... And so on.
Sounds like a funny paradox right there.
I need someone's advice with filling out the "playing with" section of Improbably Quick Coma Recovery

Ironically, I have a feeling that the cute animal sidekicks that are already part of the franchise are going to get the shaft.
Why do I keep thinking Skuld sounds like Pinkie Pie? XD ^_^;;
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!Looking at pictures of Komodo dragons on Google Image Search, I was kind of expecting its teeth to stick out more.
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!I pondered about that myself. It feels like making fun of superhero cliches has become so common and prevalent that eventually it became a cliche itself. Would that be a funny version of He Who Fights Monsters?
Beware the Superman is also tired btw.
Anyway, I like local superheroes, like "street-level" superheroes and supervillains. With powers that can at best demolish a large building but that takes effort and energy, that's about it.

You mean like Watchmen?

Yeah, it's like very often a superhero webcomic is made, it's almost always a parody or a Deconstruction.
There is a Webtoon on, well, Webtoonsnote (I think it's either on hiatus or was moved to Discover, I think the author got sick?) called Supersonic Girl that plays it straight. Some would argue a bit too straight, but it's a pretty good time anyway. It's a bit refreshing to see superheroes played straight as a webcomic.
Also, there was a supervillain contest that was a lot of fun and my design took 4th place, but that's not why I started reading it, I'M NOT BIASED SHADDAP.

My AO3 profile. Let sleeping cats lie and be cute and calming.
Yeah, you're right. I thought Spinnerette pretty good when it first got started, but now it feels like it's running out of steam. ^_^;;
Speaking of fiction, since we're getting more into the season for horror movies, here's a random thought I've been pondering about for a while now.
The CinemaSins guy says he likes the ending of Krampus and even took a sin off for it because, as he put it, "it's not happy!" Well, not to burst his bubble or anything, but most horror movies as a rule don't have happy endings. What makes that one so special?
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!@Deme:
Watchmen?
My kind of "superhero" would be someone like the The Doom Slayer. He doesn't need superpowers, or have moral qualms killing his enemies. He slays demons, he rips and tears demons.
FPS protagonists are a special bunch. It's fun to be a One-Man Army killing evil badguys, that are less humans and more like monsters, aliens, demons, supernatural, etc.

Had to plunge the sink drain because it was clogged up with some gunk. Will pour the cleaning fluid or whatever down tomorrow because honestly it is late and I need sleep
So, let's hang an anchor from the sun... also my Tumblr

I hope it gets unlocked soon, but I can't blame the mods if they choose to wait a while.
