Just post whatever comes to mind.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.
If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.
Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

I am terrified of and fascinated by the Yandere archetype at the same time.
"And nobody, in all of Oz, no wizard that is or was, is ever gonna bring ME DOWN!"So, just a bit of a random thought experiment to all of you (Nothing happening in my personal life, just something random I thought up of and was curious about how others would react): Imagine you were an employer, and you had a job opening. However, you are only hiring one person. Two people show up for the interview.
Person A is polite, friendly, considerate, gets along with employees, and is all around a pretty likable chap — however, he is underqualified for the job. He can still do it, but it is obvious if you hire him he won't be the best employee at it, and he isn't exactly the type of person who's able to improve his abilities at a quick rate. He's willing to work hard, but even "working hard", his skills just aren't up to the level required for the job.
Person B is completely qualified for the job, and is in fact, quite skilled at it. However, he is a complete asshole — doesn't respect those around him, views himself as better than most, bigoted in quite a few ways (whatever way you want to interpret this, whether it be racist, homophobic, or what-have-you), and is all around not a very pleasant person.
Which would you choose — the unskilled, but friendly, fellow, or the skilled, but quite rude, fellow?
Unskilled, no question.
In theory, the unskilled person can still learn. And they're pleasant to be around. But in my experience, you can't teach unpleasant people to not be unpleasant. Even if they are good at the job, it's not worth it to have to deal with a jerk.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."It depends on the nature of the job and how much patience I have,a skilled but rude person will able to the job,but the unskilled will require mentoring, and that takes time.
Person A is probably the safest option, but can I get them to do the job as well as person B?

I've worked with both and I can tell you that Person B would be fired in a very short amount of time. Much faster than Person A. If you want to be cold about it, you could at least have Person A do something, then fire them once you've gotten someone better qualified on board. Lord knows I have to deal with people like this all the time. Person B is just a recipe for bogging things down and will most likely end in sudden termination that will make things harder for everyone.
Quantum physics and string theory really don't mesh together all that well...
