Just post whatever comes to mind.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerLeague Of Legends being a sport is hilarious.
A: What you do for a living?
B: I'm an athlete!
A: That's amazing! What sport do you play? What level?
A: League Of Legends, Championship Series!
Yeah, seems totes legit.

Yeah..."e-sports" are...yeah.
I mean, pre-video games, did anybody ever seriously try to call chess a sport (chess boxing doesn't count)? Because that's the closest comparison I can think of to people trying to call video games a sport.

I have to return some videotapes. My Wall@ Pblades. Sports generally involve physical activity. League Of Legends is effectively "competitive gaming", which sounds a lot more legitimate than calling it a sport.
@ Vlk. Well, chess and League Of Legends are sports for visa purposes (insert lots of complex United States immigration legislation), but nobody actually calls chess a sport, but people seem intent on calling League Of Legends a sport.

Calling it a sport for visa purposes is different than it actually being a sport (though I understand the classification for that reason). Compare it to calling a tomato a vegetable for tariff purposes when it's actually a fruit. ...Now you have me thinking, do people who compete in spelling bees also get sport visas?
Though, I did discover through this discussion that there is an organization dedicated to "mind sports" where they define a specific set of games to meet the criteria and they differentiate it from physical sports. I suppose if e-sports were to seek to differentiate itself from physical sports in the same manner then that would be fine but all of the discussions I've had about it before, people don't want to make that differentiation. Plus, all of the definitions I can find for the word "sport" specify that physical activity takes place.
I have to return some videotapes. My WallFor visa definitions, a "sport" must have tiers of ability (ie leagues), sponsorship, and have two or more opposing players or sets of players.
Although League likes to fancy itself as a sport; they even have stadiums dedicated to the thing! They have overplay announcers like its football! Amazing stuff there.
Been working nonstop for almost seven hours with only three short breaks. I feel sick and achy and I'm not even anywhere near half done.
The worst part is, this isn't even a result of karma/procrastination like my work sessions usually are. This is one task that I've been doing diligently, on time.

He's got a very good set of points there, and I'd say that if you can have somebody who comments on some sort of beginner stream, such as saying 'And now she has this wand, which gives her some definite benefits to ice abilities. Seems in this match she'll be focusing on individuals, not groups, as air does.' - it's simple and just offers an idea of what this player in question is doing, without needing to go too deeply into mechanics.
