Just post whatever comes to mind.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.
If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.
Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

I know there are plenty of mellow songs, my ex flatmate owns about 3000 records, all of them rock and metal, most of them apparently Finish...she tried to brainwash me into prog.
It didn't take, but I learned something about it along the way XD.
Anyway, the issue is not so much the sound of the song itself as the mental image associated; and I don't mean the lyrics, I mean the people singing it. And they just...don't look like they live in the suburbs.
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.Anyone want a free copy of Thirty Flights Of Loving?
(It won't be what you expect, no matter what you expect when you try it)
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.Sure. This is what I generally look like when I walk down the street, too.

Mont: I would disagree. It depends on the sub-genre, but there's still some mellow songs by metal bands.
For example, there's more of that kind of stuff in progressive and power metal.
