Just post whatever comes to mind.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.
If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.
Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

I'm polluting Akinator with my own original characters now.
Maybe someday when my works are actually finished and published a fan will play them.

Banned entirely for telling FE that he was being rude and not contributing to the discussion. I shall watch down from the goon heavens.

I'd be happy if they'd let me be quiet and introverted, but no, they just can't shut the hell up.
Optimism isn't even the problem, it's that exuberant "let's go here and there and do this and do that"-attitude that means you'll try and do anything as long as it's ridiculous.
I'm a bit annoyed, yeah. It'll pass soon, I'm sure.

A different shape every step I take A different mind every step of the lineHow many times do I have to say that being pessimistic isn't cool. At best, you look like a Yahtzee wannabe, at worst, you shake me to my very core. On that note, guys... optimists aren't naive Man Children. They just have a positive outlook on the future. I'm totally cool with other people's beliefs, but it just pisses me off that living your life in bitterness and hating everything is seen as more mature than saying "Wow, we live in a world where it's a mundane thing to talk to people across the world through light beams! We're even making robots and trying to perfect all of this already amazing technology we have! We live in an amazing world, don't we?" If you say "Oh, you're in denial, quit hiding from all the shit!" I will reply with "I know crappy things happen. Get the hell over it and quit hiding from all the good things in the world."
As I said before, I am totally cool if you're a pessimist. But if you think being one makes you look smarter/more mature/cooler, or if you say Silly Rabbit, Idealism Is for Kids!, that's when I shake my head. What's wrong with levity and happiness?

Usually here.I think his point was less his problem with this part
Guy 1: Oh woe is me. The world sucks.
Guy 2: Dude, you just won the lottery. What's the problem.
Guy 1: The world sucks! Boohoohoo.
Guy 2: ...
and more of a problem with
Guy 1: Hmm. Think I'll stay home and watch a movie.
Guy 2: Stay home? Watch a movie!? It's time to go out on an adventure!
Guy 1: But I just rented this. I heard it was rea-

"The fact that your food can be made into makeshift bombs alarms the Hell out of me, Scrye." - CharlatanThat whole thread pisses me off. Basically, you should seek balance when it comes to this stuff. Bitter cynicism won't lead to anywhere but stagnation and over the top idealism simply doesn't work in this world because this simply isn't a world made for over the top idealism.
