Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

Nope. That is a more or less standalone story. Set in the context of "stuff Yuki did during Endless Eight and got away with".

@Haruhi fanfic: Stuff like that is why I need a reaction image of a guy with a "WTF?" expression driving a sports car into a ditch.

Somebody draw that.

The two girls then proceeded to do very non-gay things to Kyon for several hours.

I found the phrasing funnier than the content, tbh.

Standing there in the darkness behind the club leader and her straight-man were several young boys and girls. There had to have been at least fifteen of them all standing in a neat little row, some looking like they were twelve and some seemed to be at least five. All of them had oddly colored hair, ranging from baby-blue, blood-red, orange, lime-green, hot-pink, silver, pure white, electric-blond, purple, and one color that didn't even seem to be a color. Their eyes were weird colors ,too, and Kunikida wasn't even sure if any of them had blinked at all in the last three minutes. It wasn't this or the hair or eye colors that freaked Kunikida out. Oh, no.

It was the fact that all of them were connected by a metal chain that was linked to metal collars latched around their necks.

Oh, and they were all wearing maid outfits.

Why yes, I am just going to keep posting these for awhile.

@"Non-Gay things:" That is the most Narm-y thing I've read in fiction.

Yes, the prose is a little sub-par. A great obstacle to finding good fanfic.

Clearly the solution is to convince Penn And Teller to do a Bullshit! episode about manchild-ism.

That being a manchild is a bad thing, of course.

I may have a slight bias here...

For some reason I am laughing at the sort of person who would be introduced with "And then there's this asshole...".

Even if I have no idea who that sort of person is.

Okay, I like how clear Merleau-Ponty is, and I'm interested in what he has to say, but I really wish he would stop acting like he wasn't an idealist because he totally is.

There's one thing that makes me at least partially hate almost every American movie... nothing to do with them actually being American, with the storytelling, characters, ´plot or whatnot...

It's the fact that they usually have stupid endless title scenes and/or opening credits. You get lots of shots with nothing happening while "X and Y present", "an XYZ production", "a film by Z" and the names of half the cast flash across the screen in huge letters for five minutes. And only then do those movies come to their (usually slow) proper start, meaning you're half asleep by the time the actual plot kicks in.

Necessary? I think not.

That's true for older films, but I see it less often for newer films.

Personally, I like it. It's fun for a director to play with.

But hey, it's better than having all the credits at the beginning. They used to do that for the really old films.

I like it as well. But then again, I'm aesthetic's bitch and I like pretty photography as well as a good plot.

It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.

It's just that I don't really care who funded the movie and who "presents" it. I'm here to see the movie, not to see the names of people who might or might not have any real part in making it.
