Just post whatever comes to mind.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.
If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.
Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

Maybe it's because they aren't interested in Western stuff, and if they aren't, they shouldn't feel compelled to be so for the sake of the people who are?
Don't take it too literally. What I meant is simply "hey, we're in a site that catolgues all forms of media! Why not try them all out?"
Yes, I know. If you don't care or don't like it, then you shouldn't and whatnot. and I don't think that everybody must do it. But I want to be able to talk about stuff I like without feeling like weirdo.
I used to not know why I am so vocal about my anorak-iness here, when there are entire sites devoted to them.
Then I realize that they know far more about the subjects than me and are too formal. (TVNT was a bit "formal" for me as well; forum-self intruded too much into my persona there and I tried to tone it down, to no avail. I'm weird, I know)
I'm still not entirely sure I understand the whole "forum-self" thing, though I imagine it's much like how I have a TV Tropes-self and an IJBM2-self.
Heapers’ HangoutAs I said, wiki-self is a less formal version of my Wikipedia self (obsessive who dutifully updates articles with a straight face), and forum-self is a goofy, loud, outspoken spaz who obsesses over things nobody else cares about.

That does sound kind of awesome, actually.
I think my wording in the other post was kinda stupid. I'm hardly the arbiter of whats cool, it's more that it puts a smile on my face when someone geeks out over non typically geeky things.

Emperor Wu liked cake, but not exploding cake! What kinda quirky interests are we talking here?
READ THIS COMIC. | Read along as I play through my games collection! What, music collecting?
It is kind of cool, but it's frustrating more often than not. Also Crack Is Cheaper.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Does my love of spinny things count for anything?
"I can't imagine what Hell will have in store, but I know when I'm there, I won't wander anymore."I like... y'know, I think I'm just your basic common-or-garden geek. My biggest obsessions at the moment are probably Doctor Who and MS Paint Adventures.
I don't think I have a forum-self, but I'm probably slightly more polite here than elsewhere on the Internet.
