If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.

Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

There was an Unpopular Philosophical Opinions thread which I initially read as Unpopular Popular Opinions.

I've recently realized just how much I despise people who feel the need to express their views and opinions through stickers and pins they put on their belongings.

I'm beginning to suspect Fast Eddie used "It Just Awes Me!" rather than "It Just Amuses Me!" just to spite people. Then again, the latter lends itself more readily to backhanded insults.

To be fair, it was called "It's just awesome" before "It just awes me." Than it was renamed to match it's mirror in negativity brother which is now dead, dead, dead.

So I think there's something of a transition here.

I half-expected someone to make a thread in IJAM "Janitor is back" (or something like that). Alas, that didn't happen so far.

In regards to the argument brought up about television as compared to Internet, I personally feel that Internet has ended up a greater intrusion in my life than television ever had.

Exactly. At least with television I'm off after the shows I like are done.

Politics is often poisoned deliberately. Other topics are sometimes poisoned accidentally, by concentrated confusion. Gibberish is toxic; if you bend your mind to make sense of it, your whole mind warps slightly.

The Internet is the ultimate time-sink. And I am an addict

Also, for some reason this Tails avatar boosts my self-esteem. Probably because he's supposed to be a genius.

One of my uncles is a genius too. I would tell you the name of the device he made that anticipated today's gadgetry by like a decade, but I'm sure it has his name attached and I am paranoid.

Also, I'm preoccupied with worrying whether or not this is bad journalism. I get the sense that there is much that is left out. (The text part, not the video)

Also, for some reason the fact that it hails from Today makes me wonder if live "appointment TV" has any sort of future, what with the big shift. It's probably a long way off in full, but it's still fascinating.

^oh so now this thread wakes up

My sister's boyfriend told her kind of a funny story about when he was a kid, which she then told me. He accidentally found the stash of presents a little before Christmas one year, and he asked his older brother about it. His brother, probably just for the sake of being a jerk, told him that Santa Claus died a few years ago, and ever since parents have been just buying the presents themselves. The funny part is that, instead of being upset that Santa was dead, he was just like "oh, I guess that makes sense" and carried on with his day. A while later he innocently brought up Santa passing on to his friends at school and probably traumatized them.
