If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.

Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

New rule: Sci-fi writers aren't allowed to know about any scientific breakthrough or discovery that occurred after the first moon landing.
Especially nanobots.

No, I have never written a poorly-researched short story involving nanobots, why would you imply that?

Nanobots don't actually exist, so that hardly counts.

Spain: Uh. I did not realize that. What is it about.

Check cLOUDDEAD's page, I'm reasonably certain I put an explanation there somewhere.

It is about roadkill on a non-metaphorical level, I guess, but that's not what I meant.

Can we make "No nanobots" a separate rule, then? Cause I really don't wanna see any more of those.

One nanobot story is forgivable, Spain. It's still a new rule.

ah, yes.

Mind Screw - Another thing featured in pretty much all their songs, only "Dead Dogs Two" has ever had a confirmed meaning (it's a metaphor for fame). "Rifle Eyes" is supposedly about 9/11, but it's not obvious if it is.

12 views. I think that that's a new low record for videos I've watched, it used to be 56.

The only time Nornagest has ever really annoyed me was when I compared something he quoted to Husserl, and he felt the need to give me a long lecture about why phenomenology was wrong.

It's just, how do you respond to that besides "... okay?".

Wikipedia and this grammar both tell me that Turkish r is an alveolar tap, but listening to these samples, it sounds way less tappy than Spanish r, which is supposed also an alveolar tap, but rather a lot closer to some sort of approximant. Especially especially when not intervocalic.

Mini-IJBM: The scientific issue of global warming becoming a political issue. You can't have an opinion on an ecological phenomenon. Either it is happening or it isn't! This does not change because a bunch of editorial writers claimed otherwise.
