The Grey's Anime sketch was over hyped on the internet in my view.

It parodied our childhood favorites through internet memes no one expected to see in a cartoon on CN. Of course the internet is going to be in love with it. tongue

That was suppose to be funny? I swear, this show is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. "Oh! They said 'OVER 9000!' That's hilarious. WRONG!!!

^

I personally found it one of the most unexpected and most hilarious thing to happen on a Cartoon Network show.

My amusement was a result of how completely unexpected it was.

Unexpected or not, it's still wasn't funny. Using a 15 or so year old meme is not funny. Trying to connect a stupid medical drama to anime is not funny. I will give that this is all subjective, but I hope this show is canned.

The show still has the potential to improve. I'll admit that Grey's Anime is the only sketch I've enjoyed even slightly, but I am going to keep my hopes up.

This show is sure a real base breaker, isn't it?

In response to people saying that this show is going to crash and burn, I think that it actually makes a nice bridge into adult swim.

G'day

I want to note something: how many people do you believe are going to know who Pedobear really is?

Ealier in the year at an anime convention, a guy cosplayed as Pedobear. There was a different gathering of little girls, can't remember what, and the girls all wanted their picture of the giant bear. The parents were alright with it. Safe to say, not alot of people know of Pedobear.

I don't see why a refference HAS to be un-funny. If the refference itself is funny to begin with, how does Memetic Mutation ruin it?

You can kill a meme by repeating it too much.

True. Other than that though, I don't get why people automaticly think refference humor is un-funny.

I can honestly say Grey's Anime is the best sketch I saw on that show. I can honestly say that because I only saw one sketch on that show, which happened to be that one.

^^Reference humor is funny when it works. What I'm seeing in this show is Seltzer And Friedberg level suck.

Yeah, besides the anime sketch I'm not impressed at all. The Grey's Anatomy was all right though, I mean it had chibi Lenin and Karl Marx dancing randomly in the background.

#69: Sep 23rd 2010 at 7:27:34 AM

Grey's in Anime might have been overhyped but it's the only time you'll ever see Pedobear on Cartoon Network. That is worht something at least. xD

Geth Knight you are clearly taking this simple skit show too seriously. That and being told 'what isn't funny' gets rather annoying.

I find it amusing, it seems like it is trying to balance younger viewers with older ones. So it can be a rather awkward approach. I don't get why people go ballistic over memes in mainstream, without mainstream half of them wouldn't exist. People and with throw away attention spans on what is currently cool "unless I say so", is too common these days.

even though you don't mean it *pets*, and I was being pushy me self.

nah but besides that, I can understand some skits falling flat.

Just watched the new episode. Urge to kill rising. They attempted a Glee parody, which I'd normally be fine with, except that it was extremly obvious they'd never actually WATCHED it. *facepalm*

I love Glee, but I'm willing to admit it uses Fridge Logic from time to time. But to call it a High School Musical rip-off? No. Just no. Glee is a subtle PARODY of teen dramas. And even then it's often more realistic than any other teen drama I've seen.

Meh, the was fine, but for a reason i didnt find Star Blech funny.

but the only thing that was funny was the cursing question machine form the rejected Toy Story 3 segment. (and yup, its official, Cartoon Network's censors are dead.)

My name remains a mystery to us all.

^ I agree on the Star Trek parody. It wasn't funny to me whatsoever. But did anyone notice Ben 10 in the mix? (Not that it matters or anything)

But I find the Glee parody OK. I enjoy the music and got to see Zac Efron get beat in the head twice. As far as I am concern, I enjoy it.
