Can I just say FUCK Vogels? Somehow, these little bastards are tougher than any non-boss drones in AC7 and are even more obnoxiously maneuverable. Seriously, the Arkbird's drones are unspeakably zippy and they take three damn missiles. They're probably the toughest aerial opponents in all of Ace Combat 5.

Just got to Mission 19 on my guns only run. So far so good, I needed the Fishbed and MGP to help melt the fleet on mission 11, but otherwise I haven't run into much trouble. Missions 13, 14 and 15 in particular were easier than I thought, and 16-17 are a lot easier once you are ready for the twists, etc.

If nothing else, this run has made me a far better dogfighter.

Guns only is done, and to hell with Mission 19.

Also got everything in the singleplayer part of the Aircraft tree.

My next run will probably be focused on hunting Aces. I'm not skilled enough to try S Rankings on Ace, and I don't hate myself enough to even attempt no damage.

It appears we're getting the Raven tommorow. Looking at the video closely shows it's also the first playable aircraft with multiple special weapons, replacing guns with Pulse Lasers.

Ooooh. Wonder how much credits it'll cost to unlock though...

Damnit, today was just the a video for the season pass content. Actual release is next month.

Gotta love modern marketing with teasers for a trailer and not bothering to make it clear to get more views.

A more complete video was just posted online showing the three DLC jets (the ADF-11 Raven, the ADF-01 Falken (which has Fuel Air Bombs, W 00 T!!!), and ADFX-01 Morgan in action. Still nothing about the DLC missions though, and wasn't the Nosferatu supposed to be part of the DLC?

No people just thought it was because no one thought they would do both the ADF-11 and the Falken, since there basicly the same plane.

I too hope that the MRP grind isn't too bad.

Is there even going to be an MRP grind? It's DLC, and the only current DLC plane came with everything unlocked from the get-go.

Huh, would make the campaign awfully trivial if you got these things automatically though, especially for new players. Unless they are gated behind clearing the campaign.

Yeah. Having a TLS laser with infinite ammo instead of the usual vulcan cannon is powerful enough since you no longer need to lead your shots or account for gravity, and the FAEB bombs are gonna make the score destruction missions a breeze. I'd second the idea behind at least making some arbitrary requirement to unlock the trio.

BUUUT... there are folks out there who would complain if their paid content was locked behind some sort of barrier, so that's probably not going to happen.

The regular machine gun already doesn't have bullet drop and the gunsight already calculates lead - which pulse lasers need, too, since they're not hitscan like the TLS. The RAVEN pulse laser will probably just act as a reskin of regular guns, rather than like the actual pulse laser SP weapon.

Just realized that the aircraft packs gave no details on the 3 missions in the Season Pass. I had assumed that those were coming with them, one each, but maybe that's not the case.

If its only those three jets then the DLC isn't worth it. Especially since the multiplayer won't be receiving any add-ons. Those three missions had really better be something else, and not just some re-hashes of what was included in the base game.

Guess whose copy of Zero just arrived in the mail?waii I'll have to wait until my job interview tomorrow is done before I plug in the PS 2 (remarkable that it still works after gathering dust for so long).

I think my favorite part of Zero so far is that tanks only take one missile to kill.tongue

Just liberated Directus and grabbed myself a shiny new Gripen (though I'll probably sell it once I have enough for a Terminator), the Tiger was fine for the first few missions, but I need an all-rounder with more ammo.

Was Gelb squadron supposed to be scary? I downed them under a minute and they only got one missile off. I found the Indigo squadron to be far more challenging.

Also, pretty sure that Pixy, in 6 missions, has shown more competence than the collective skill of Wardog, Mage, Spare, Strider and Cyclops combined.

Pixy is the best wingman in the trilogy, yes.

And Gelb is supposed to be scary because they can fire missiles backwards, so tailing them too close will get you blown up. There's only one other ace I can recall of the top of my head who can do that, and he's the Gauntlet's Bonus Boss.

I mean, I was running on fumes missile wise (8 regulars, and 3 QAAMs remaining, so I was surprised when they didn't evade that well. I was expecting to get into a gun duel with them. That would probably have been messy, given their rear facing missiles.
