DEFINETELY!
i was about to freeload off of Borders and read it there, but the story was so good, i decided to buy the volumes weekly
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.It's good that you're doing what the people say, and not after the movie comes out. Don't want to seem like we're on the bandwagon, do we?

[I'm not childish, I'm childlike; I'm not careless, I'm carefree; I'm not a smart-ass, I just outsmarted you.]i've heard about the movie just a few days ago...
Michael Cera? Seriously? Jesus Christ on an M1 Tank This Is Gonna Suck...
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.It's okay, but I've seen the so called innovative humour before elsewhere. Those who say it is the best comic ever have clearly never read a webcomic before.
Scott Pilgrim is very funny, but it hits me on an emotional level (especially volume 5) that no webcomic I've seen comes close to matching.
I've enjoyed the series (almost done with volume 5)...not too amazing or anything, and the first transition from slice-of-life to insane action is jarring, but overall it's a solid series.
I agree on the Michael Cera comment...Edgar Wright gives me faith, though. Maybe Cera's trying to de-typecast himself, but I can't see the quintessential awkward nerd playing a likable loser like Scott.
I'm glad too that he's trying to de-typecast himself. It's just his perpetual slackjaw "Deer In The Headlights" look that bothers me.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Oh, I can agree there. I just hope that Cera is trying to be a different character rather than the movie turning Scott into Cera - a distinct possibility from where I sit.
I love all the video game Shout Outs here and there. My favorite so far was the fight that follows Scott obtaining The Power of Love in the form of a flaming katana.
Scott and Roxanne's fight is scene for scene a Shout-Out to Ninja Gaiden

ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Just an Epileptic Trees theory of mine, based on some dialogue from the series (figured it'd be a waste to start a Wild Mass Guessing page for a comic that only has one installment left):
All of Ramona's Evil Exes are actually manifestations of her guilt. This is why many of them explode or die after being defeated. This is based on the scene where Ramona is shocked that Scott got over an ex in as little as six months - she's still getting over every single one of her exes, resulting in the League of Evil Exes. The fact that each and every one beats Scott over the head with Ramona's flaws could be her self-loathing shining through; she feels so guilty about mistreating all of them that she doesn't believe anyone can love her, hence some of the events near the end of volume 5.
Dammit, when is issue six coming out?!
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.I'm no longer opposed to the idea of Michael Cera starring as Scott Pilgrim.
Scott dating Ramona is all about Scott growing a pair. He's a lazy college reject slacker with a lot of problems, most of them stemming from indecisiveness/ moral high ground issues. By dating Ramona, he's trying better to improve himself as a person.
What better than to have a meek little geek boy star as him, so this actor can Take a Level in Badass as well?
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.One of the things I really hope they keep for the movie is all the subtle ShoutOuts to other works, video game or otherwise; personal favorite is Scott wearing a jacket with the X-Men insignia and the accompanying "Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters" joke.
Also, since I was just reading a thread on the subject on /co/ recently, whose voices do you read the characters in? It's been awhile since I've read them so I can't remember the specifics, but suffice it to say most of the major dub V As get an appearence (in my head). That seems to happen a lot...

I'll turn your neocortex into a flowerpot! Can't really tell. I associate "voices" with people i know from real life.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.I recently picked up the first 3 volumes of it. When I read the summary on the back I could practically taste the Hipster.
But I forced my self to start it because of a friend's recommendation. I shouldn't like it. I really shouldn't but I'm finding it more and more endearing.
I have a top hat. Your Argument is invalid. The video game feel of the series (which is awesome) overshadows the hipster vibes, IMO
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Yeah, Michael Cera scared me as a choice, too, but O'Malley seems pretty down with everything related to the movie and talks to Edgar Wright regularly, and to be honest I would love to see Michael Cera actually pull off being an action hero if only for the hilarity of the whole thing. "Did George Michael just hit a guy and make him explode in a shower of coins? This is the best movie ever."
I'm more excited over the upcoming video game, actually.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Wait Micheal Next-To-No-Visible-Personality-On-Camera Cera is going to play Scott Pilgrim? The Scott Pilgrim that jumps arpund energetically in fights and is a happy go-lucky idiot?
Why isn't the Scott Pilgrim movie an animated feature in the first place?
I have a top hat. Your Argument is invalid.Because Hollywood doesn't believe in big-budget animated features, especially for grown ups (or, at least, twenty-somethings). The Princess and the Frog has been a huge deal for fans of animation for exactly that reason.

To quote Skwisgarr "That idea is dildoes"
I have a top hat. Your Argument is invalid. Not too happy about it either, Foxtrotpenguin. Lets hope Cera doesn't come off as a complete tool.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.
i'm told i should read this comic, but i'm not all that sure i want to pick it up yet.
what do you think?
