It is.
What kind if gaming store only stocks D&D stuff? The store staff should have jumped on the occasion to introduce all the other stuff that's been struggling to get sales.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."A gaming store with nothing but D&D and Magic: the Gathering stuff is not a good gaming store.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI guess I read it less as "that's the only thing they sell" and more "it's a significant revenue stream".
...you know, it's been a good twenty years since I've been in a gaming store, but I can't imagine them banning anyone for that reason. Perhaps because I remember a big controversy when the proprietor banged a teenager. (It was the oughts - it was awful, but not quite as awful, if that makes sense.)

My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger.…That sounds a lot worse than throwing out a customer.
Disgusted, but not surprisedKinda my point. Glass houses.
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger. No, my point was that this means the ending of your post makes no sense.
How is that not quite as awful?
It's also not an example of glass houses.

Disgusted, but not surprisedA: (I should stress I do NOT endorse this) Attitudes towards postpubescent teens were different in the oughts, for better or worse - see Casey and Andy, by the author of The Martian. B: That was really just an aside, the point was that it was a generally shady joint, and they certainly wouldn't have banned anyone for suggesting a boycott.
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger. That makes even less sense now. That makes the early oughts more awful than now, not less.
And it's still not an example of "glass houses".
I'm also not sure what the proprietor being a statutory rapist has to do with him being willing to throw out customers for a bullshit reason. The two aren't really connected.

Disgusted, but not surprisedWhat I was saying was that the place I went to in the early oughts was shady as hell, and their glass house far too fragile to ban anyone for as silly a reason as encouraging a boycott. I don't know about this day and age.

My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger.A shady place would be even less likely to care about D&D engaging in such a practice and thus be more likely to throw out a customer for suggesting a boycott that could harm their profits.
Disgusted, but not surprisedWell, in those days Discover, Nintendo, Marvel, and DC were all cleaning up, so a boycott of WotC wouldn't have meant too too much. Still, let's face it, boycotts in the abstract versus concrete customers, guess which wins.
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger.Eh, especially with RPG and comics stores sometimes being low-margin passion projects, having any customer in your store telling people to stop buying things (in this case, Mike is suggesting other items, albeit maybe not ones that the proprietor has stocked) seems like a reasonable reason to bundle them off, or at least have a stern word with them.
...I mean, quite frankly, this is assuming that a person hearing about a boycott will participate - or has even a one in ten chance of doing so.

Parenting milestone◊, drunkenly telling your child "No". (hotlinked again...)
Two new comics recently, one about the joys of watching Texas drivers in the snow, and one about old people accusing young people about being on drugs, mainly because they miss the drugs. Not linked because not only does the penultimate comic not have a link to the next comic, but after I sent a message to Randy, letting him know that, now even more comics don't have a next comic link.
That actually IS a great idea.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117I know there have been a few games that were licensed to do that, although The Grape Escape is the only one that comes to mind now.
Good to know I'm not the only person whose mind went somewhere dirty the first time I heard the game called "Cornhole".
