They never did have that talk about Davan knowing that Rory is into guys, did they? Interrupted by flying wrestler and all that.

Rory comes out and he's a bit freaked at Davan's reaction.

Am I the only one to whom Rory's little soliloquy felt wicked contrived? I mean, who says things like that out loud to no one, especially when a stone's throw from someone they wouldn't want to hear?

Eh... I dunno. I got pretty poetic when I was his age, prone to soliloquies too.

So yeah, a bit contrived, but believable.

No idea of what the reference is, Twinbird, but a storyline about Rory coming out to a friend is ongoing.

There were also two Super Stupor entries, amazingly enough.

And that is one of the several reasons why I still play video games.

Okay, am I the only one annoyed that we've gone this far into this plotline without, at least as far as I can recall, even mentioning Donna? Although we don't see much of her, by all indications she's a bigger part of Rory's life than Davan is, plus she's never lived anywhere but the outer suburbs of Dallas. I don't think we've ever seen her interact with Monette, even. Terrified as Rory was of outing himself to the one with the bisexual wife and sister married to a woman, with all his navel-gazing to this point, why has her name never come up?

I'm ashamed to say that I had to look her up to see who you were referencing...

Hopefully, her new dating life isn't leading her to neglect Rory.

I'm positive Donna has been mentioned, though a lack of tagging system makes it hard for me to go double-check.

Still no mention of Donna, but good advice. And it doesn't come off as preachy, even to me, as Davan puts in that Rory is still privileged in a lot of ways.

It helps that Rory was already kind of reminded of that when coming out to his friend.

Reader suggested storylines for 2019

I'm guessing he's gotten this request often enough that he's fed up with it.

Just how cynical do you have to be to think that people being Happily Married is unrealistic?

I'd assume that someone saying that was from a badly screwed-up family, or more likely, was suffering from completely routine teenage wangst.

Why such a person would read Something*Positive, I haven't the faintest idea. I'm shocked at the very idea.

It's also kind of a callback to Spider-Monkey and the storyline in ''Super Stupor'' where someone insisted that Time Punch Guy "fix" his boring situation of being married.

It's a general issue in superhero comics, to be honest, with writers deciding that marriage is inherently boringly static.

It also says something that the former catgirl who is guilty and coping with what she did is working in retail, while the former catgirl with zero remorse is going to Princeton.

Mmm. I guess it says that the author is prone to inverted snobbery.

Or the author lives in the US and has realized rich assholes and their enablers and sycophants are the problem.

Or it could just be random... nah, there is a definite tie between sociopathy and higher management. Correlation, not necessarily causation, of course...
