At Comic Books: I to Z, for the Planet of the Apes one, please Wiki Word Planet of the Apes.
~nombretomado: Just use the writeup here
. Since it's an Older Than They Think entry, I don't see any point in adding newer examples.
I just realized that it sometimes helps to address the following queries is a better way to phrase the latest portion of the header than the following queries might need to be addressed.
May i please add to the Pokemon Sword and Shield YMMV page under memetic mutation:
After it was announced a certain amount of Pokemon would not be in the game, jokes about Trainers and their/or Pokemon trying to sneak past the Galar region border have become abundant. Sometimes by recoloring a pokemon and pretending it's a Galar Pokemon.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Got another one for the Pokemon Sword and Shield YMMV page:
- Author's Saving Throw (after the Galarian form entry)
- For the past two generations, there's been at least one type with either only two new Pokemon, only one new evolutionary family, or bothnote . Pokémon Sword and Shield makes sure there's at least three new Pokemon of a given type across at least two different families.

Nothin' much, just cookin'.At DC Video Games, for Justice League Heroes, for Brainiac, please wrap The Heavy around "launches a complex scheme" and de-Wiki-Word Martian Manhunter.
Also, at Marvel Literature, for 90s Strucker, please wrap No Swastikas around war criminal.

~RedHunter543, I can see a couple grammar issues in that request. Why don't you take it past the grammar thread
, for a bit of a tune-up?
Done to here otherwise.
Please recreate and cut Loves Only Goldneeds One More Hat to get rid of a ghost wick.
Done.
ETA: moved thoughts on Hate Sink clean-up to that thread.

At DC Video Games, The Heavy should also be around "scheme" for Brainiac.
For the Hate Sink thread
, I have a suggestion for restructuring the header in light of recent discussion.
The main concern of this trope is whether the narrative treats the character as someone intended to be despised.
In order for this trope to be in effect, the character in question must actually display detestable qualities, and be hated by other characters at least, or treated by the narrative like someone you are supposed to hate. The author's declared intent cements an example, but is not needed if the narrative itself treats the character as someone who is supposed to be hated.
Haman the Agagite, for instance, displays qualities of ego, bigotry, and pettiness; additionally, there is a custom of jeering at his name's mere mention. It goes without saying, according to this thread, that Haman was intended to be despised by the audience. Being a Draco in Leather Pants, like Draco Malfoy, or a character people Love to Hate, like Joffrey Baratheon, doesn't preclude being a Hate Sink; being a Complete Monster, like Haman, certainly doesn't preclude this trope either. In fact, being a Magnificent Bastard doesn't necessarily preclude this trope either.
A Hate Sink may have charismatic traits, a troubled past, or complexity, but in order for this trope to be in effect, such traits must be de-emphasized by the narrative in favour of their detestable traits.
With regards to this trope, actions still generally speak louder than words. The format of editing which brings up characters who don't fit the bill before mentioning the candidate's name doesn't generally go into enough detail with regards to what makes these characters loathsome.
The entries for this trope should ideally focus on who does qualify, rather than the characters who do not. However, denoting the fact that the character sets themselves apart from more charismatic/sympathetic/likeable characters of the setting is perfectly reasonable, and in some cases even necessary, so long as in doing so, one does not neglect to mention their despicable traits and actions.

I'm a bit confused at the moment; I launched a supertrope for You Go, Girl! (meant to hold non-sports examples) less than two hours ago, and while I was still in the process of crosswicking the new page to its examples' work pages, I saw that the supertrope was locked, which is making it more difficult to crosswick. What I find really weird about it is that there weren't any edits at all on the new page at the time it was locked.
Showing Up Chauvinists is the page name.
EDIT: The lock is gone now; this might've been a bug.

I'd like to request some edits for YMMV.Pokemon Sword And Shield.
For Awesome Music, add:
- The Gym Leader theme
, a techno piece that really captures the feel of Pokémon battling as a major sporting event.
- Piers' theme
, an epic remix of Team Yell's theme for the black sheep of the Gym Leaders.
- Chairman Rose's theme
, an epic orchestral piece with Ominous Latin Chanting that makes it clear how high the stakes are as you battle for the fate of the Galar region.
- The Battle Tower theme
, composed by none other than Toby Fox himself, is an energetic piece fitting for a climb up the ranks against the most powerful trainers in Galar.
- The Gym Leader theme
For Epileptic Trees, change:
- Due to the oddness of Leon, the Champion, being revealed so early and seemingly having a Signature Mon that does not in any way connect to the Galar region (a non-mega Charizard), speculation ran wild on the possibility that he, like Alder before him, would not be the final boss, but a post-game boss.
- There is also speculation that, like Lusamine, the glowing praise in the trailer might be hiding the fact that he is either a Villain with Good Publicity or a Fake Ultimate Hero.
- When Hop was introduced, he was referred to as "one of your rivals". This specific wording led some fans to believe that there may be more than one rival once again, similar to Pokémon Black & White and X & Y. The resulting rival being more of a jerkass is particularly hoped for.

This specific wording led some fans to believe that there may be more than one rival once again, similar to Pokémon Black and White and X and Y. The resulting rival being more of a jerkass was particularly hoped for. Ultimately, said fans proved correct with the introduction of Bede and Marnie as rivals, and Bede is the aforementioned jerkass.

Ghost wicks to BoyMeetsGirl
:
Can you add something to the YMMV of Pokémon Sword and Shield under Author Saving Throw?
- It took over twenty years but at long last, there is finally a traditional Dark-Type Gym Leader in the game, as the penultimate Gym Leader no less. Even when he steps down post game, his replacement is also a Dark-Type user.
I have a couple of entries for Pokémon Sword and Shield:
- Alternative Character Interpretation: The many meetings between the two throughout the game (most notably the one right before the Champion Cup), as well as Leon only telling Rose to change the date instead of stop outright, makes one wonder how much Leon knew about Chairman Rose's scheme to resurrect Eternatus prior to the climax.
(Edit: removed the Moral Event Horizon entry due to concerns raised about it. Also edited the other entry.)
Edited by Storygirl000 on Nov 23rd 2019 at 3:58:37 AM
I'm fairly certain that second one is misuse of Moral Event Horizon, since from what I've seen, that act doesn't push Rose into "irredeemable villain" territory.
You might want to run that particularly entry through the Moral Event Horizon cleanup thread
just to be safe.
Okay my paragraph was spell checked, can this please be added to the Sword and Shield YMMV under memetic mutation.
After it was announced a certain number of Pokemon would not be in the game, jokes about Trainers and/or their Pokemon trying to sneak past the Galar region border have become abundant. Some of the jokes involve recoloring a Pokemon and pretending it's a Galar Pokemon.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"

~Kindle4Light, maybe take it through "Is this an example?"
" Or you could do a quick dip into the Pokemon thread
if that's a bust.
