Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
  9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
  10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

NOTE: Edited with OP's permission.

All the donut redirects are A) making me hungry, and B) seem like a lot for a trope that just got launched. How about we keep an eye on the inbounds/activity, and if it seems like it could use more searchability, we go from there.

We're done to here. ~Klavice, those pages have been locked with the understanding that this is, for now, a temporary measure while the initial clean-up is made. We can reconvene afterwards. I expect a lot of those subpages to get cut or re-merged.

I'm an idiot [lol]. At Fan Works, for video games, Undertale should go before the "Others" group; don't know what I was thinking when I said after Ace Attorney (which is TECHNICALLY correct, just not immediately after [lol] ).

Also, at Film D To J, for Halloween, please quadruple-indent the 4-6 timeline and the H20 timeline entries, so it looks like this:

Everything else looks good.

Tome Of Fate And Prophecy, Tome Of Prophecy And Fate, and Tomes Of Fate And Prophecy as redirects to Tomes of Prophecy and Fate?

Since it already has singular redirects of Tome of Fate and Tome of Prophecy?

Instead of having Film P To Z redirect to the main CM page, please have it redirect to Film.

At Film S To Z, please cut Saint Nick (2010) and add this:

  • Sint (2010): In this Dutch horror-comedy, St. Niklas in life was an evil bishop, and the leader of a gang of criminals that ransacked a village every December 5. After being killed by the rebelling villagers, Niklas and his gang return as zombies and skeletons every full moon on the evening of December 5, and proceed to go on a murderous rampage. Throughout the film, Niklas commits many murders, with his worst offenses including burning down a children's hospital—killing 35 children in the process—and sending a school bus into the river to drown all the children. Vile and cruel, Niklas is a great demonization of a holy holiday figure.

Another, small mistake I myself made on the Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam entry for Scirocco on the same MagnificentBastard.Gundam page: "Neo-Zeon" should have been hyphenated.

Done to here except the redirects. ~MaLady, I know one of our general guidelines has a line for acceptable pluralizations, but I feel like it's butting up against our general desire not to create more Main/ redirects than are needed for searchability.

So a while back I see I got the Devilman version of Satan put up on MagnificentBastard.Anime And Manga but I guess I forgot to ask for the other version, who was also approved. Anyways, can we please add this to the aforementioned page:

  • DEVILMAN crybaby: Ryo Asuka, in truth the fallen angel, Satan, is the one who connives to have Akira Fudo become Devilman by tricking him into being possessed by the demon Amon. Upon regaining his memories as Satan, Ryo exposes the existence of demons and sets the world into a full-blown panic to make humanity turn on itself while he sweeps in with his demons to eliminate them, eventually facing and killing Akira himself to his great sorrow. Even after God resets the world, forcing Ryo to relive losing Akira over and over, Ryo shows hints of subtly altering things to eventually change the fate forced on him, showing why he is both Akira's greatest friend and deadliest enemy.

Btw I wasn't the one who added all the spoiler tags and I don't mind them being left out on the main page.

At The Punisher, CIA is fine for Rawlins, but please keep Cavella's as is.

Please cut Magellan from Literature M To Z.

At Complete Monster, the first two go to the AniManga folder; Dollface to the Video Games one.

To Anime And Manga K To Z:

  • Release the Spyce: Kurara Tendō, aka Sparrow Woman, is a high-ranking member of the Moryo organization and the Tsukikage's most personal foe. Introduced tortuously experimenting on her own subordinates with a pain-inducing drug, Tendō is revealed to have masterminded a drug-smuggling ring and a brothel that kidnaps and forces women to serve as prostitutes. As she aims to take down Tsukikage, Tendō ruthlessly mutates and uses her followers as suicide bombers, killing conspirators who object to her callous plans or fail her. Brainwashing the population of a city district, Tendō aims for it to fall into anarchy as her drugs make the people insanely violent. In the past, it is revealed that Tendō had traumatized one of the Tsukikage members, Yuki Hanzomon, by killing her mentor and scarring her eye. While trying to escape capture from the Tsukikage, Tendō again torments Yuki by cutting her, forcing Yuki's pupil to watch. Planning to take her brainwashing program to a global scale with "Project Gekkako", Tendō intends to reduce the entire world to a mess of violent, unstable people, just for her own evil experiments.
  • SSSS.GRIDMAN: Alexis Kerib is a mysterious being who is revealed to be the sponsor of Akane Shinjo, a virtual reality goddess prone to outbursts. Introduced as the affable and saner companion of Akane, Alexis reveals his true nature in the seventh episode by slashing the face of Anti, one of Akane's humanoid kaiju, with a motor saw after Anti made a kaiju in order to defeat the Gridman Alliance. After Akane slowly plunges herself into despair due to several failed attempts at eliminating the Gridman alliance, Alexis forces Akane to make more kaiju, and when the latter refused, Alexis let his kaiju cause destruction in Akane's virtual reality world. When one of the Gridman Alliance members tries to comfort Akane, Alexis turns Akane into a kaiju, and when Anti tries to rescue her from utter despair, Alexis then brutally impales Anti in the back. It was revealed that he had done his atrocities on other people with the same circumstances as Akane in the past and plans to do it again in the future, solely to satiate his boredom.

To Video Games L To Z:

  • Twisted Metal: The 2012 reboot gives these two characters Adaptational Villainy:
    • This adaption of Calypso lacks the humor of the original, and is more serious and demonic. Calypso is the creator and host of Twisted Metal, a demolition derby that attracts some of the vilest people with the lure of a wish. This tournament has killed numerous innocent bystanders through its destruction around public places. Calypso completely intended this, loving the carnage and destruction it leaves. He even instigates some of his contestants to participate, manipulating them in situations that would make them desperate enough for a wish. What they don't know is that whatever this wish is, Calypso intends to use it to kill the victim in some way after they finished entertaining him, and then trap their souls in his painting where he enjoys the screams of pain and agony. A sadistic entity, this version of Calypso brutally kills thousands out of entertainment.
    • Dollface, real name Krista Sparks, is a selfish model who, in order to get to the top, sabotages several models on a catwalk and outright murders one of them with a sledgehammer after said model is chosen for a prize photo shoot. After an accident which causes her face badly damaged, and when her doctor failed to fix a little scar on her face after several surgeries, Dollface decapitates him with a chainsaw. Before joining the Twisted Metal in order to remove her mask that will removed the little scar from her face, she gained several mooks with the same thinking as her, and when one of her mooks ask Dollface if most of them will get their wishes, Dollface shoots her.

Couple more for this week, both for MagnificentBastard.Video Games:

  • The House of the Dead: Caleb Goldman is the founder of the DBR Organization and secretly funded Dr. Curien's research into creating zombies and monsters. An expert in the Genome theory himself, Goldman carried on the late Curien's work to create a being to rule over humanity and revert it to his natural state. Unleashing the hoards on Venice and inviting his AMS "friends" to his office, Goldman explained that humans had upset the Life Cycle and needed to be culled. After his Emperor is defeated, Goldman chooses death over being apprehended, promising a "successor" will come. Three years later, Goldman's back up plan came into effect. Zombies were unleashed once more and messages left by the deceased Goldman reveal to James Taylor and Kate Green a countdown for a nuclear launch – which turns out to be a hoax. Goldman leads the duo to his office while providing tests of strength to destroy The World, a monster he made that had become too powerful. Goldman also promises that he did not intend to destroy humanity and specifically made sure people could live in the North, remarking that "hope is such a splendid thing."
  • Spider-Man (PS4):
    • Felicia Hardy, the current Black Cat, is a brilliant master thief that steals for the thrill of it – but only choosing to rob those who can afford it or those that "deserve" it. In the main game proper, Cat leads Spidey on a hunt for her Cat Dolls challenging him to stop her from stealing $50 million dollars worth of loot. This was all a ruse, with the loot being a lure to distract Spidey while her Dolls shut down the police department's security systems, allowing Cat to recover her confiscated equipment. In The Heist DLC, Black Cat is working to steal Maggia drives that contain financial information for Hammerhead, telling Spidey that he has her son hostage and letting Spidey believe he might be the father. This was a lie so that she could recruit Spidey's help in stealing the drives for herself and she promptly fakes her own death, only resurfacing one last time to save Spidey from Hammerhead and give him information on how to take down the Mob boss for good. A thief at heart, Felicia nonetheless has a strong conscience while still loving Spider-Man, while fully using this to her ruthless advantage.
    • The Heist DLC chapter gives us Walter Hardy, the former Black Cat, whom is just as devious as his daughter. Faking his death years ago to protect himself and his daughter from the Maggia, Hardy manages to get a hold of Spider-Man’s phone number and disguises himself as a cop right on top of a police station. Calling himself Detective Mackey, Hardy tricks Spider-Man into uncovering loot he hid years ago. When Spider-Man finishes up, Hardy leaves with his loot, knowing Spider-Man won't tell his daughter the truth because Spider-Man is a "decent guy." He also asks Spider-Man to look after Felicia. While only featured in a simple side-mission, Hardy more than lives up to his anecdotes as a brilliant criminal.

For the Spider-Man stuff, please replace the current entry with the new tree there.

Thanks smile

Please add this as the first example of Hilarious in Hindsight on YMMV.Sonichu. I didn't request it before because I thought it was already there (minus the last sentence), but I can't find it in the page history.

  • Sonichu mentioned that he had a dream of seeing his creator, Christian Weston Chandler, with long hair in the mirror in one issue. Needless to say, this ended up coming true. Also, an author's note in Episode 20 says "I would rather suffer a painful gender-change operation than ever be a homo."

Also, TearJerker.Dangan Ronpa is still about the first game; it should be moved to TearJerker.Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc as the other subpages were.

For Film D to J, please remove the dead link to The Girl Next Door 2007 and have it as The Girl Next Door (2007). Please also remove the double mentioning of the novel. It should go as:

  • The Girl Next Door (2007): In this film based on the novel (itself loosely based on a true story), Aunt Rutherine "Ruth" Chandler takes child abuse to horrifying new levels. Ruth believes that all women are whores, and as such should be treated like animals. When her nieces Susan and Meg move in with her after the deaths of their parents, she subjects Meg to an escalating series of atrocities that include tying her to a post and ordering her sons and some of the neighborhood children to rape her, mutilating her with a blowtorch, and forcibly removing her clitoris, forcing David and Susan to watch as she does. She also punishes Susan, a crippled girl, for her sister's perceived disobedience; she even goes as far as to inappropriately touch her as a means of keeping Meg in line. Manipulative and sadistic, Ruth is an utter nightmare of a mother.
