Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. The Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard tropes aren't currently adding or removing examples. Wick changes and other minor corrections to the locked trope pages can be made via this thread, but more significant changes will be declined.
  9. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

On Rurouni Kenshin, for Jin-E Udo's entry, "when" in the third sentence is lower-case when it should be upper-case.

Why so serious?

On the American Political System page, it refers to George Mc Govern's original 1972 running mate as Sam Eagleton. His name was actually Thomas Eagleton.

Also on Rurouni Kenshin, in Kanryu's entry, the third "Kanryu" (which is located in the third sentence, after the third commanote ) is superfluous due to the presence of the second one in the beginning of the sentence.

On The Irate Gamer, please add the Video Game/ namespace to Resident Evil 5, after which Main.Resident Evil 5 can be sent to the cutlist.

Please replace the Super Robot Wars tree at Video Games L To Z with this:

  • Super Robot Wars franchise:
    • Super Robot Wars: Original Generation:
      • Aguilla Setme is the cruel head of the School, a brainwashing academy for Child Soldiers. Setme is responsible for the brainwashing and Mind Rape of countless children into heartless soldiers, and she has no compunction sending them to die as cannon fodder, or to kill civilians. The process is portrayed as a painful and traumatic one as well, with Latooni, one of the "graduates" of the School who is saved having what amounts to PTSD and severe issues. When Arado, one of her "children" manages to escape her, Setme shows no remorse in brainwashing his Love Interest Seolla and sending her to murder him. When Seolla is saved, Setme has their beloved big sister figure Ouka brainwashed to kill them, Ouka only freeing herself long enough to destroy Setme at the cost of her own life. Setme even says they're not even people to her, just test subjects to be used and discarded.
      • The Ax-Crazy, sociopathic, Archibald Grims, a Psycho for Hire without a cause, only wants and loves "needless bloodshed, especially from the innocents." He also gleefully forces Elzam to make a Sadistic Choice, whether it's to allow Grims to unleash a deadly nerve gas, killing the entire populace of a colony, or to kill his, Elzam's, own wife to prevent the attack.
      • Lubikka Hakkinen is a brutal, sadistic mercenary who leads attacks on civilian colonies all the while sporting a big Slasher Smile on his face. One of these attacks took the lives of the parents of Tytti Noorbuck, and this wasn't the first atrocity Lubikka had committed. When Tytti exposed him, Lubikka was forced to flee, becoming a mercenary raider who still carried out war crimes, except now he possesses a fixation on making Tytti suffer. He targets her friends and kills her lover Ricardo, all to hurt the one person who escaped him before he plans to kill her as well.
    • Super Robot Wars Alpha 3: Keisar Ephes, true ruler of the Balmarrian Empire, was once a great hero who succumbed to darkness and became one of the most evil beings in the Super Robot Wars franchise. Known then as Augustus, Keisar Ephes allowed sacrifices in his name, devouring the souls of those given to him. Initiating the invasion of Earth, Keisar Ephes continued to devour the souls of the fallen before finally revealing himself and his true plans: to destroy the heroes and consume their souls as well before annihilating the entire universe and recreating it as a place of eternal suffering where he could lord over his victims like a God.
    • Super Robot Wars Judgment: Jua-Mu Dalby may not be one at the beginning, but he certainly is an extremely nasty individual despite his youthful appearance. While he's extremely loyal to Al-Van, he completely looks down on Earthlings, insulting them at every chance possible with no chance of even considering them a Worthy Opponent, like Fu-Lu Mulu. He is also responsible for partaking in the destruction of Ashalley Kreutzer facility, mentally scarring his "mentor" Calvina Coulange, and unlike Al-Van, Jua-Mu has no regrets and conflict over it, he just enjoys slaughtering humans over the superiority complex he has as a Fury. When Al-Van is demoted and Jua-Mu took an increase in power via injection of massive Larseium, what remains of his sanity goes away, and instead he punts up his Ax-Crazy Jerkass behavior to the point he's extremely loud in not just insulting humanity, but also personally carrying out mass slaughter on them.

Marquis de Sade currently has an image of Sade's father, not Sade himself. The only known portrait of Sade to be authentic can be found here and is currently used on his Wikipedia page. Further down his Wikipedia article is a caricature of Sade as if he were tormented by demons, if someone wants to use that, though I don't know that that would be kosher for this site.

Please replace the heading at Gundam with this:
The various Gundam series, and related works, have a habit of trying to show war in various shades of gray, and as a result, most villains—if they can even be called that—are tempered with sympathetic human qualities. However, there are still exceptions to the rule.

Also came here to point out that the image on Marquis de Sade is a painting of the father of the (in)famous author. I uploaded the portrait from Wikipedia. This is the markup:

On the American Political System page, it states that seniority in the senate is "determined first by length of prior service in the Senate, then by length of prior service in the House of Representatives, then by length of prior service as a governor, then by length of prior service in the state legislature, then by the state's overall population ranking." However this page from the Senate Historical Office states that seniority is "determined by former service in order as senator, vice president, House member, cabinet secretary, governor, and then by state population." Therefore, service in the state legislature doesn't factor into Senate seniority, while Cabinet service does.

On Monster/AnimeAndMangaAToJ:

  • In the Case Closed section, second entry, fix the protagonist's name from the erroneous Shinichi Izumi to the correct Shinichi Kudo.
  • In the Guilty Crown section, there is a double comma in one sentence in the Segai entry (A man who enjoys violence and carnage, whether he or someone else is the cause of it,, underneath...)
  • In the Hellsing section, The Major entry, the word "bespectacles" should be "bespectacled".
