Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. The Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard tropes aren't currently adding or removing examples. Wick changes and other minor corrections to the locked trope pages can be made via this thread, but more significant changes will be declined.
  9. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

I want the message to be as blatant as possible, not requiring people to dig around in admin pages.

You should update the Locked Pages page to reflect the example stripping.

I offer an unframed version of the image at Hollywood Tactics.

And while you are visiting that page, also consider adding brackets to the page quote.

At Literature M To Z, for Reef of Death, please remove "the" from "when the PC...".
A rewrite for Burke at Film A To E:

  • Blow Out: Burke is a professional assassin who shoots out the tires on a Presidential candidate's car to send it into the water. While he succeeds in killing his intended target, a woman in the car with him survives. Deciding he needs to eliminate her as well, Burke devises a truly cruel plan to cover his tracks. So there will be no inconvenient questions, Burke becomes a Serial Killer by targeting women who look similar to his target, strangling them to death with a garrote. He finally attempts to kill the girl, Sally during a parade so her death will be passed off as the act of a random maniac. Burke is indicated to be nothing more than a sociopath using his job to hurt others.

About custom titles that are too long to fit in the request box: No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular! is missing just 1 character, the final exclamation mark. Is it possible to add it?

God, the fact that you would so cruelly mock the people who can point out the ways in which Screwattack is completely wrong (because we're not crying, you idiots, we have facts to back it up) is just completely, absolutely horrible and proves that you are no better than them. I want to leave this site. Please terminate my account.

The fact that you would care, at all, about something so utterly trivial, is exactly why we had to take the actions we did. Bye now.

Girls Need Role Models on Feminist Frequency needs to be moved to the main page as it is not a YMMV trope.

I believe Five-Man Band (and to a minor degree Five Bad Band) could use a disclaimer about how tropers just LOVE the trope so much that they will force it on any and all shows where there's any sypathy whatsoever among two characters, making it hard to tell them apart from actual examples which makes it border YMMV. I understand there's already a disclaimer about not forcing the trope into just any work but, as it goes, very few editors have read it and almost none has followed it.
