Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. The Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard tropes aren't currently adding or removing examples. Wick changes and other minor corrections to the locked trope pages can be made via this thread, but more significant changes will be declined.
  9. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

I don't know if this is the place to propose an example on the Fallen Creator page, but I'd like to add Tatsuya Ishida, the creator of the web comic ''Sinfest to the article, and I'd also like there to be a section for web comics and web originals on there as well. The writeup is as follows:

  • At first, Tatsuya Ishida of Sinfest fame was praised for his opinion on politics by not choosing either stand-point, and ultimately poked fun at both sides. The webcomic originally began as a daily webcomic that employed comedy and presented each of its chief characters as representatives for bigger ideas, but again, they were never presented as straw-men. Later on, he started to employ paranoid propaganda in his strips in 2008, and took a more opinionated view on political standpoints. When the fans complained to him about his radical political beliefs being employed in his webcomic, he slowly began to back off from politics until he began to depict feminism in his comics. In his comics, he would repeatedly raise up a female organization called the Sisterhood and would always talk down to his male characters and there was also the fact that the Sisterhood members were also extreme cases of knights templar who even advocated exterminating men in one strip. Many fans of the webcomic also cite the Sisterhood as the reason that the attention the other characters had prior to their introduction was suddenly taken from them and that they were also cited as the reason for the webcomic's shift from a daily comedy webcomic to a political-oriented one.

Well, whether that example is approved or not, the correct plural of "knight templar" is "knights templar", not "knight templars", and "cite" in the context in which you're using it is spelled with a C, not an S.

On Race Lift, please replace the "Legend of Earthsea" entry in the Live-Action TV folder with the following:

  • The television miniseries Earthsea, very loosely based on Ursula K. Le Guin's novels A Wizard of Earthsea and Tombs of Atuan, whitewashes the entire cast (they're all brown or black) except for Ogion, who is brown in the novel and Danny Glover in the miniseries, and Arha/Tenar, who is white-skinned in the novel and played by the multiracial Kristin Kreuk in the miniseries.

and remove the "Earthsea" entry from the Literature folder.

For Monster/video games and visual novels, would shao khan from Mortal kombat qualify? Originally the adviser to Onaga, ruler of outworld Kahn poisoned Onaga and took over control of the realm, and went on a conquering spree across multiple dimensions. His greatest conquest was that of Adenia, where he killed the king, Jerrod, and brainwashed the queen sindel and her daughter kitana into serving him. When sindel tried to kill herself, Kahn trapped her soul in outworld, preventing her from moving on to the afterlife. For more, read his page on Wikipedia

Two changes for Monster.Disney:

At the end of Scar's entry, add "Later, in a desperate attempt to save his own skin, he tries to blame everything on his loyal hyena henchmen."

Change Frollo's entry to this:

  • Judge Claude Frollo (pictured) from The Hunchback Of Notre Dame is likely one of the most evil characters the company has ever invented. In the film's opening, he pursues a young woman on horseback, and pushes her onto steps of the church, causing her to tumble to her death. He tries to drown her infant son, Quasimodo, in the well for being ugly, but the archdeacon stops him. Solely out of fear of being punished for his crimes, Frollo takes the boy in, keeping him under strict rule, isolation, and emotional abuse. He initially seems to have to have fallen in love with the young gypsy girl Esmeralda, but when she rejects him, he decides she must burn in hell. Taking his anger out on all gypsies, Frollo burns down a windmill, where a family lived, for harboring them. After that, Frollo tries to have a massive section of the city burned so he can kill Esmerelda. Even being a classic case of Knight Templar, the things he does casts his "good intentions" as being sham and hollow.
