  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.

  • Video Games And Visual Novels: Please remove the Castlevania entry and add the following:
Mephiles from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) wanted to try and essentially eliminate Time itself, as well as the fact that he killed Sonic the Hedgehog for little reason than to make Elise cry so he could merge with Iblis and thus destroy time itself. Although Sonic got better, it's still quite the Moral Event Horizon. Its also implied that he was part of the reason why Shadow ended up sealed away by humanity as well as an unwilling Omega carrying out the deed (he had some resemblance to Shadow thanks to absorbing his shadow, so its not unreasonable that he would have done deeds that the populace will blame Shadow with), and he manipulated Silver into attempting to kill Sonic with the implied intention of destroying the past. If that's not enough, he also enjoyed the carnage he inflicted. He currently ranks highest in regards to being the most evil character in the series not only because of his motives simply being to wreck and destroy anything and everything he can for no reason other than For the Evulz at best (even Black Doom at least desired to rule over the Galaxy, and Eggman Nega also had somewhat of an excuse for his behavior: He was often ostracized and not taken seriously specifically because he was the descendant of Eggman, due to the latter's comical and bumbling nature.), but also at how frighteningly close he came to succeeding in his goal to destroy everything, heavily damaging the time-space continuum.
  • For Comic Books, please take the "other" out of the folder, delete the Sonic folder, and create a new subpage with what's found at Complete Monster Sonic The Hedgehog. And then lock the new subpage. For the main page, please wrap a Morally Ambiguous Doctorate around Doctor Venom (GI Joe).

Wilybur, I think your confused when it comes to the Monster.Fan Works page.

The Others header inside the Western Animation folder is for Western Animation examples where that do not have multiple fics.

The Others folder is for examples that do not fit the other folders. The Vocaloid example does not fit in any other medium, and I have no idea where The Locust example comes from.

So basically everything between The Fall of the Fire Empire and Lost and Found goes in the Western Animation folder in a header that says "Others", and the last two go in the "Others" folder.

From this post Add the Grimm Fairy Tales examples to Monster.Comic Books

At Monster.Film replace Man-Seok and Jong-Seok's entry with:

  • From The Man from Nowhere we have Jong-Seok, younger brother of drug-dealer Man-Seok, and junior partner in their Big Bad Duumvirate. While his icy older brother might care about his well-being, Jong-Seok cares about nothing but having as good a time as possible. He's physically abusive of the women he sleeps with, tortures So-Mi's mother by burning her with a blowdryer (then kidnaps So-Mi for their organ harvesting operation), tortures her mother's boyfriend by beating him and threatening to burn off his testicles, and sends Ramrowan to sadistically murder their former boss, Mr. Oh. When a little girl involved in their drug operation passes out, Jong-Seok has her dragged off so her organs can be harvested and sold. A Psychopathic Manchild at its worst, Jong-Seok uses his last moments alive to brag to Tae-Sik about how he has failed So-Mi as badly as the Seok brothers have.

Same page, add Eric from this post

Same page add Morgenthaler's writeup of Jonah King

On Monster.Live Action TV replace the JAG example with Random's writeup at the bottom of this post

Cut Ari and Eli David from the NCIS examples on the same page.

add Joe Carroll from this post to the same page.

Same page Exister's writeup of Tommy Volker to The Mentalist under Red John.

On the Monster.Video Games And Visual Novels page replce the Assassn's Creed writeup with:

  • The Assassin's Creed series is well known for its complex morality with its struggle of Assassin vs. Templar, but several villains have managed to show they are nothing but monsters.
    • Majd Addin, the de facto dictator of Jerusalem in the first game is a smug, strutting sadist of a man who takes full advantage of his position to carry out his wish of holding the lives and deaths of the populace in his face. Majd Addin regularly orders and carries out the executions of innocents for trumped up charges. Unlike his fellows, he has no illusions he is doing any good in the world. When Altair performs his assassination, one victim is even a prostitute who protests her only crime was not sleeping with Majd Addin. When he is confronted by Altair, Majd Addin gleefully explains he has done everything because he could, and holding the lives of others in his hands made him feel like a God.
    • Governor Pierre de Fayet in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag stands in stark contrast to the Well-Intentioned Extremist Templars and tyrants of the modern era. The Governor of Port au Prince, de Fayet perpetuates the brutal system of oppression, having slaves treated worse than any other in the series. He also supports and frequents an African brothel. Late in the game, de Fayet has a slave ship sunk with the slaves still on board, condemning them to drown while chained below in a horrible, terrifying death. When he's tracked down to his estate, he's also seen torturing a slave with a branding iron for information. When Adewale, the hero of the DLC, finally has de Fayet at his blade's edge, de Fayet justifies himself with the belief the blacks are less than human and he can do with them as he wishes.

Replace the Deus Ex example with:

  • From Deus Ex there's Bob Page, a former member of the Council of Five; the ruling body of The Illuminati and a protege of the leader Morgan Everett. Consumed with a lust for power, Page abandoned the Illuminati to strike out on his own. He invented a nanovirus via robots to kill as many people as possible and shows a willingness to have any failures eliminated. Page would even use nuclear weapons to get his way, in his plan to throw the world into chaos to pave the way for him as a messiah and a world leader. His ultimate goal was to merge with AI Helios and become as a God, declaring "Let it spill over into the schools and churches, let the bodies pile up in the streets. In the end, they'll beg us to save them."

Replace Arkham from Devil May Cry with

  • From the third Devil May Cry game, we have Arkham, initially The Dragon to Dante's brother Vergil, Arkham is revealed as a sinister, power-hungry man who sacrificed his own wife to become a devil himself. Arkham manipulates everyone to lure them into a battle resulting in Dante, Vergil and Arkham's own daughter Lady weakened enough for Arkham to step in and seize the power of Sparda for himself. Arkham has no compunction brutalizing Lady or trying to kill her. When he unlocks the power of Sparda, Arkham plans to, as he puts it, "welcome Chaos" all through the world. When Lady confronts him at the game's end, Arkham angrily demands to know what he's done wrong, declaring he wanted to be a God and for that he had sacrificed just "one miserable human life, that's all! Was that really so awful!?

And add the entries from this post

  • Tobi from War of the Biju is the Big Bad and the Man Behind the Man to Nagato. Before convincing Nagato to create Akatsuki, he was Madara Uchiha's Dragon. Tobi was originally from a sect of the Uchiha Clan who rejected the truce between the Uchiha and Senju that formed Konoha...and its Sole Survivor. Why? He murdered them all, including his parents, younger siblings, and even lover so there was no competition. When Madara gave his final orders, preparing to die in his sleep...Tobi smothered him to assume the role. One of the things that stands out is how he framed the Uchiha Clan: while dueling Minato the Yondaime Hokage, he simultaneously led the Uchiha Clan on a wild goose chase, merging with the clone he used right after the control of Kurama, the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox. All so the Uchiha would be away right as Kurama got big Sharingan's in his eyes when the clan was gone right in front of the entire Konoha leadership. Then years later when after the Uchiha Clan began working amicably with the Village again he reappeared and blackmailed Fugaku Uchiha...after literally mind raping several women to death. All so he could get the Uchiha's support for the coup. Which he then helped Itachi put down. Finally he starts the most destructive War in the entire history of the Five Great Nations. Seeing everything but a big game to kill as many people as possible, Tobi lacks anything and everything that would make him sympathetic.

  • The Malazan Book of the Fallen has a dark world, with its enormous scope giving rise to many dark deeds, but none stand out as much as Bidithal. An elderly member of the rebellious army the Whirlwind and its most powerful High Mage, Bidithal gets away with his atrocities due to his power and high position. He has a disturbing taste for little girls that he rapes and performs female circumcision on. In his darkest act, Bidithal captures the adopted daughter of the Whirlwind's leader, Felisin the Younger, and rapes her. He tells her he will "“drink all the pleasure from your precious body, leaving naught but bitterness, naught but dead places within." Even the barbarian Anti-Hero Karsa Orlong finds Bidithal an utter blot on humanity as a whole and relishes a chance to force Bidithal to choke on his pleasure.

Ad to Monster.DC And Vertigo

  • William "Billy" Hayes, better known as Harm from the initially light-hearted comic series Young Justice was a teenage supervillain who was also a complete sociopath. Adopted by loving parents, Harm initially terrified his adoptive younger sister Greta and her fears were proven right when Harm murdered her in her bathtub to seal a demonic pact and give himself super powers. His goal was to become the world's greatest murderer and he decided to hunt down and destroy all the kid heroes before moving on to the big leagues. He captured Red Tornado and reprogrammed him as a suicide bomber against Pope John Paul II to make a name for himself in the supervillain community. When his father, realizing what he was, killed Harm with a gunshot to the back, Harm's spirit later returned. He possessed his father and used his body to enact more evil deeds, none more enjoyable to him than screwing with Greta, now the ghostly heroine Secret, by making her think her father never truly loved her. when defeated, Harm, for sheer spite, forced his father to throw himself into one of the fire-pits of Apokolips while Harm possessed him to kill them both.

Add to Monster.Marvel

  • Belaric Marcosa from Werewolf by Night was a shockingly dark villain for even a 70s Bronze Age Marvel horror series. In life, Marcosa was an evil aristocrat who lured victims to his manor to use dark sorcery to drive them into 'lewd depravity' before he sucked their lives and souls out before having them murder one another for his amusement. He then kept their souls trapped in his manor. After his death, Marcosa had more victims lured to the manor so he could torture them as well, playing dark mindgames and driving his victims to distrust and murder one another before revealing himself and attempting to add their souls to his collection.

EDIT: Oh, and a really small request for the Deus Ex example. Put the peroid in the the sentence: "...to have any failures eliminated." outside of the link to You Have Failed Me.

I would like to request an edit to That Guy With The Glasses to move the The Blockbuster Buster examples there. Here are the examples:

  • fluffything: The Blockbuster Buster's review of Atlantis The Lost Empire is pretty bad in and of itself (It's pretty much just him comparing scenes to the film to scenes from Stargate). But, that's not the DMOS. No, the DMOS is that throughout the "review", he does some of the most insulting and downright unfunny "impressions" (in the loosest sense of the word possible) of other internet reviewers. Some of his "jokes/impressions" include "Everything The Cinema Snob watches is porn!" and "Spoony's all about inside-jokes from older videos!" and "Let's make fun of Linkara's accent and how he pronounces "room"!". Why does he dow all these bad impressions? Because he couldn't get anyone to cameo in his video. This only elevates his impressions from being bland and unfunny to downright rude and it makes him sound butthurt as a result. Hey, Blockbuster Buster? If you want a popular internet critic to guest-star in your video, here's some advice: Don't make fun of them, especially not in the way you did.
    • Man With The Plan: In fact, this was not the first time he did this! He did these exact same unfunny impressions in his review of Eragon on Youtube about a year before his Atlantis review. And the Eragon review was mainly just comparing scenes to Star Wars just like with Atlantis and Stargate. So this makes him guilty of the same dethroning moment of suck twice! Quite an achievement.
    • Dr Zulu 2010: While I admit to be alright with the Blockbuster Buster, his review of Highlanger: Endgame wanted me to slap him in the face for a huge research fail about the movie. He claims during the whole review that it took place before the first movie. Which couldn't be that bad except that in the beginning, we see Rachel being killed. You know, the same Rachel who was still alive in the end of the first movie. So when he arrives at the fight between Connor and Duncan and that Connor dies, his anger to this just makes me wanted to have Spoony to appear in a cameo just to say STFU. How a Highlander fan could make a huge fuckup like that?
    • Charleston Man: His review of The Dark Knight Rises. It's OK to criticize the film and not like it. But E-Rod then goes on to say that he wishes that a movie was made showcasing "the definitive Batman". What is that to him? A Batman like Kevin Conroy's in Batman: The Animated Series (and Arkham Asylum games.) Um, E-Rod? Newsflash: there is no definitive Batman. This has been stated multiple times by the creative forces behind Batman! The reason Batman has survived over the years is because there is no one definitve version, and he can evolve, be updated, and reinterpreted in countless ways. Just because one version is the one you grew up with and is the one you personally prefer, does not make it the definitive version. E-Rod even actually says at the end that the movie is bad because it's "another example of filmmakers just doing whatever they want with Batman rather than providing the definitive version." No, E-Rod. Just no. Filmmakers are under no obligation to "recreate that version in film", got that? Stop making yourself look like a total jackass. Also, stop making fun of Bane's silly voice. Your voice isn't all that serious itself.

Hmm ... is there any discussion anywhere about that move? Judging from a reading of The Blockbuster Buster, the only connection of it with That Guy With The Glasses is that it's featured on the channel of the latter, but otherwise independent.

At any rate, that looks like Thread Mode to me - needs an Example Indentation overhaul.

Request for The Bible:

  • Holy Is Not Safe: In St. Paul's First Epistle to the Corinthians, he warns that Communion is not safe for those lacking reverence and holiness. While it gives life to those who have been prepared to approach the Table of the Lord, for those who are not prepared, it brings curses, illness, and can even kill you.

Yo, very much into Buffy the Vampire Slayer at the moment, big surprise, and thought this would be a good edit for Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil.

  • The episode Dead Things has Buffy come to the realization of just how evil she is because of her earlier rape of Spike. Savvy fans would recognize the parallels to Faith even if Buffy doesn't, either way she is utterly devastated by what she's done and upon learning it's not because she Came Back Wrong like she feared she hits Rock Bottom.
