Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. The Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard tropes aren't currently adding or removing examples. Wick changes and other minor corrections to the locked trope pages can be made via this thread, but more significant changes will be declined.
  9. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

NOTE: Edited with OP's permission.

Can somebody remove the wicks to Catchphrase on UsefulNotes.JoeBiden and UsefulNotes.DonaldTrump? Since they're real people, I think it would be appropriate to just remove the wicks instead of changing them to one of the catchphrase tropes. The wick on Biden's page is in his image caption, while Trump's page has one wick in his image caption and another wick listed as a trope (the trope entry is already listed under Elimination Catchphrase on The Apprentice, so the trope entry on Trump's page should also be removed).

There's a couple of edits I and others would like to make on the Fire Emblem: Three Houses – Edelgard page. We'd posted on the discussion thread for that page, but I'm just now finding out to comment in this thread instead. I'll copy over those edit thoughts here:

  1. I want to remove the phrase "Edelgard's refusal to compromise," from the Who Will Bell the Cat? entry. I'm pretty sure I'm the one who wrote that part in the first place, but it's redundant with later parts of that sentence.
  2. Someone else thought that the entry for her for Adaptational Nice Guy isn't correct. I'm inclined to agree because not only because it's not an adaptation but is an alternative take (in the same way that the routes are alternative takes), but also because some of those better qualities listed in the trope are present in Three Houses as well. Remember that in that game Linhardt and Dorothea both point out she can care too much at times, and Seteth and Manuela both point out that people follow her because of her better qualities.
  3. I wanted to remove the entry for Control Freak. That trope is only one interpretation of "losing control", a term that is listed in the characters "dislikes". However the term is clearly meant to mean something else in the original Japanese - losing her composure. Additionally, the entire entry itself is full of disqualifying points, and more exist. The only pro "control freak" example given is her choosing how she dies in Azure Moon, and we know from the game's main theme and elsewhere that she chooses to die not because of a loss of control, but to give the war a definitive hero in Dimitri and villain in herself. And her entire motivation is to remove the societal restrictions that keep people from following their desired paths.

Other people had suggestions, but I haven't thought about those to that extent they have, so they can post it themselves here if they want.

Mostly done to here, save for the catchphrase thing as I think a replacement trope is actually warranted.

[up] Replacement trope?

Anyways, please make Frenzy a disambig with this formatting:
''Frenzy'' may refer to:
* ''Fanfic/FrenzyHeroMemory'', a Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog fanfic written by Hero Memory.
* ''Film/Frenzy1972'', the penultimate film of Creator/AlfredHitchcock.
* ''VideoGame/Frenzy1998'', a ShootEmUp game made for the first UsefulNotes/PlayStation.

If a direct wick has led you here, please correct the link so that it points to the corresponding article.

On Spider-Man: Spider-Verse – Spider-Society, there's an red link on Insomniac Spider-Man's folder that's supposed to direct to his own character page. It to be changed to Spider-Man (Insomniac): Peter Parker.

Since this was approved by the "Is this an example?" thread, would it be possible to add this to YMMV.Saints Row 2022?

  • Audience-Alienating Premise: Although the game intended to revisit the series' roots following the Denser and Wackier direction taken by The Third and IV, it ended up being a tough sell. Longtime fans were put off by a continuity reboot that focused on a younger college-aged cast turning to crime to pay off student debt, while non-fans found the story and writing to be clichéd and underdeveloped. The game's divisive reception led to Volition being given to Gearbox Software before it shut down a year after the release.

My Immortal Should list A-Team Firing rather Than Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy, as the latter is specifically for mooks.

Catchphrase (I don't know how to link that) should be changed to Character Catchphrase, as the former is a disambiguation page.

Requesting to cut the Cool Loser entry on Spider Man Spider Verse Miles Morales as Cool Loser is undergoing a TRS cleanup, renamed to Unconvincingly Unpopular Character and is a YMMV audience reaction.

Thanks for playing King's Quest V!
