Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. The Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard tropes aren't currently adding or removing examples. Wick changes and other minor corrections to the locked trope pages can be made via this thread, but more significant changes will be declined.
  9. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

And a couple more quick swaps:

EDIT: And Monster Resident Evil for Resident Evil (incorporates [up] plus another small change).

EDIT: And a rewrite for A Song of Ice and Fire (folder of the same name):

  • Rorge is a Serial Rapist and Serial Killer—especially of children—and the worst of the Brave Companions, his cruelty even exceeding their leader, Vargo Hoat. Freed along with his companion Biter, Rorge signs on with the "Bloody Mummers" after Arya Stark saves him from certain death, to which he responds by threatening to sodomize her with her own wooden sword. After the Brave Companions capture Jaime and Brienne, Rorge attempts to rape Brienne and threatens to mutilate her face if she screams. After Hoat's death, Rorge leads a band of brigands on the raid on Saltpans, resulting in the massacre of nearly the entire town. Rorge personally kills 20 men and rapes a 12-year-old girl, mutilating her then giving the girl to his men to mutilate her further. Upon encountering Brienne again, Rorge expresses a desire to cut off her legs and have her watch him rape a 10-year-old girl—with the latter's own crossbow. Additional material indicates that he is also the reason why Biter is the way he is—finding an orphan boy, Rorge removed his tongue, filed his teeth, and made him fight dogs with only his new fangs.

Please, add this quote to Complete Monster about Rorge from ASOIAF:

You're the ugliest woman I've ever seen, but don't think I can't make you uglier. You want a nose like mine? Fight me, and you'll get one. And two eyes, that's too many. One scream out o' you, and I'll pop one out and make you eat it, and then I'll pull your fucking teeth out one by one.

~Desert Dragon - I am not sure whether that example is valid, as The Fundamentalist is No Real Life Examples, Please! and RuPaul's Drag Race is a reality show.

Done to here otherwise. ~IúkaSylvie and ~MaLady , there are wicks/indexes that will need updating.

Considering Drag Race is edited to hell, complete with villains, heroes, and so on, I reeeeeeeally don't think it's that much different from a scripted show

That's fine. It's what makes Reality TV tropable. Are you sure it's an example, though? This looks less like The Fundamentalist than old ideas v. new, or the world of drag changing and some people preferring the older rules.

On Mumkey Jones, the Religious Stereotype entry is misspelled Religous Stereotype. Please correct it.

[up][up] I didn't do the first swap because the pages have a lot of differences between them, and I'm not sure you were aware of that when you made your request. I saw that on the sandbox, you changed a Light Novel/ wick to Literature/, so I did the same on Pages Needing Wiki Magic.

Did the rest.

Series.CrackedSeries to Series.Cracked2013 because of bad disambig style.

The subpages could be done manually.

Please add this to the Literature section of Quotes.Magnificent Bastard:

"Larat, now huntsman but once a prince of the Winter Court, had in those days schemed to slip the leash holding the fae to Arcadia by binding himself to Creation instead. Seven and one, a pattern that'd echoed around Calernia long enough for it to have the proper form of binding, and behind it the weight of earthly crowns laid at his feet. It'd been a clever enough scheme but also a risky one, not that he'd had much of a choice. As the King of Winter and the Queen of Summer wed and their war abruptly ended, with it changed the landscape of Arcadia: a single court, and with it different stories that meant Larat was running out of time if he ever wanted to wiggle his way out. Desperate measures had seen him lead a ramshackle Wild Hunt - born of nothing, for Spring and Autumn had not come and might never again - to swear itself to my service, and so avoid entanglements in Arcadia. Doubly clever he had been, the once-prince, for it was to a court contained within my frame he had sworn himself and his fellows. Like fish in the sea, the fae had been content to keep swimming in that familiar power until I gathered the crowns I owed and completed Larat's scheme for him."

Please replace the appropriate entry at Tolkien's Legendarium (near the bottom) with the following (name correction):

  • War in the North: Agandaûr is a powerful Black Númenórean sorcerer and self-proclaimed right hand of Sauron. Building an army for his master to assist him in his conquest of Middle-earth in exchange for the lands of the North, Agandaûr intends to make Sauron's forces more deadly and destructive by trying to make a Stone Giant and the dragon Úrgost join him so that they could slaughter and subjugate the Free Men of Middle-earth. Ordering a Spider Queen to devour the heroic wizard Radagast, Agandaûr moves his forces to attack the Dwarven Kingdom of Nordinbad, slaughtering most of the Dwarves there. Reducing his prisoners—who were driven mad by the study of the dark sorcery, which Agandaûr actively spreads through the world—to barely-sapient husks, Agandaûr intends on wiping out all of the Elves and enslaving all the survivors of the ensuing war.

In the False Rape Accusation page, it would be a good idea to to warn readers to not think that rape accusations shouldn't be believed to always be false. Something like this, which is in the Television Is Trying To Kill Us page.

"Far more rapes go unreported than falsely-reported. Furthermore, a 'false report' doesn't necessarily mean that whoever reported it was lying. It could be a case of mistaken identity, and victims of sexual trauma don't always react in the stereotypical Broken Bird manner. And trauma has a way of scrambling or partially blocking out memories, especially in cases where there's a long time between when the event actually happened, and when it was reported. The result of this is that many victims aren't believed, and only a small percentage of rapists will even go to jail, let alone prison."
