This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:
- creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
- moving discussion pages
- moving reviews
Please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
- Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
- If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
- We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
- If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here
.
- If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
- To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
- Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
- Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
- Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

On JustForFun.Chekovs Gun, if you could please:
- Change the Anime and Manga folder's first bullet to use the localized title, Negima! Magister Negi Magi.
- In the Literature folder's last bullet, add the "Just For Fun" namespace to the "The Zeroth Law of Trope Examples" pothole, which should change it into a blue link.

In Cyberpunk 2077, i think the Rule-Abiding Rebel entry on the "Aledecaldos" folder be removed. The trope is for supposed rebels that are actually comformists, but the entry itself is more akin to "while the Nomads are considered by others to be absolutely free, the aldecaldos still adhere to a set of rules". But the Nomads are still "freer" than most people. And on the Cyberpunk 2077's Offscreen Moment of Awesome entry, adding a spoiler entry about how, in the "Star" endgame, Mitch pilots the tank back and use it to help the clan win the battle by himself, despite piloting these machines being supposedly a two persons jobs because the mental strain would kill a single pilot. He was delirious for a few days after doing it, but still managed to do so..

The image caption on the Magnificent Bastard page breaks some rules, doesn't it? The note for "sword" is potholed to Don't Explain the Joke. It's my understanding that tropes should only be potholed in reference to their use in a work, not to trope the writer's own writing.
Further, I think the "sword" note and the rest of the caption "as opposed to a magnificent katana" are both separately explaining the joke. You only need one. For a better user experience, why not just include "sword" in the caption text? I would simplify this caption to:
"A magnificent bastard (sword)."

Please may the following trope being added to Yang Xiao Long's folder on the RWBY: Team RWBY page:
- Power Perversion Potential: Word of God confirmed fans' question that, yer, her Cybernetic Arm does has a Vibration and Spinning Function. While they try to deflect the trope by saying this is to help with stuff like knowing her scroll has a call and "Devastating attacks!", they do agree (and encourage in some cases) it has other uses.
This was originally added and then deleted about three years ago, the reason cited as "need{ing} to be mentioning in-universe to count. Out of universe speculation and jokes don't count."
But isn't mentions like this kind of the point of tropes like Word of God and Approval of God; to confirm things that the Creators either approve of or that don't show up in the main story but are said, by the Creators, to have happened?
It seems odd to me. Even if it's a joke, it's a joke that they've said is true. There are plenty of franchises that do something similar, like in the Franchise/Nasuverse, and there Tropes are added and not removed from their pages. So I'm not sure why this one is not included for the given reasons.

The reason this particular trope has an "in-universe examples only" restriction is because otherwise, you're going to get entries that are little more than random people posting their made-up creepy shit. Not every trope has this restriction, but the tropes that do have it usually have it for a reason.
A show creator saying something about it in an interview doesn't change the fact that it never comes up in the show. so it's not an in-universe example. Word of God is trivia, not a magic bullet that can get anything on the wiki.

Did the Newsletter edit and the manga page lock - as noted here (and, to put it bluntly, on Locked Pages as well) the page was 5P-locked. The Magnificent Bastard change needs to be discussed somewhere. I am not certain that the RWBY: Team RWBY edit is appropriate ... will ask the staff about it.

At the Nightmare Fuel cleanup, there is considerable support for locking NightmareFuel.Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Removed entries are repeatedly being re-added, and it attracts gushing about the Big Bad Eldritch Abomination, Galeem, and more recently Sephiroth's trailer.

YMMV/ Liberality for All is a subpage for a locked work. Should it be locked as well? Plus, subpages for Donald Trump might need to be locked as well because of controversies regarding voter fraud, and therefore disputes on whether his presidency ends in 2021 or he got/deserved a second term
