Funny thing: today I saw what a tabletop Mandrake looks like, and my first thought was how'd Keine lose the horns?
◊
And lo, the Emperor did walk his homeland, and he did overhear these words,
and was heard to say, "This man will forevermore be emulated in my armies." And here it seemed He did mishear the man's name, for next He spake saying "I shall call them Kemassars."
Axes! A tabletop question for you.
What is the closest Space Marine equivalent you know of to something with these stats:
WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
8 . 8. 3. 3. 4. 8. 5. 10. 4+

No, not until Friday earliest.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!I don't have the current edition of the codex (hell no I'm not forking out £30 for a new codex GW its made of paper), but 6th edition Marines doesn't really have anything even vaguely matching those stats. There's nothing (as far as I'm aware) with a BS or WS above 5, and the only stuff with S or T ratings below 4 are scouts. Closest would probably be a special character of some description, or a Space Wolves Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf, and their S and T ratings would be too high.
Why'd you ask?
Also, that Cracked author is an idiot for not at least running a google search on Gallipoli before writing that article. Seriously, you've got to be pretty ignorant of international affairs to claim that Gallipoli is barely remembered.
"One thing, though- apparently the eldest goat is the bastard child of Muhammad Ali and the Hulk." ~ Exelixi, on The Three Billy Goats Gruff.I'm G Ming an AGOG challenge in Commorragh right now, and I needed to know what the Final Boss is like in game terms so as to translate to "real" terms.
Those are the stats of a creature said to match, even defeat, Abaddon the Despoiler and Mephiston the Lord of Death in single combat.
Asdrubael Vect.
Oh, and apparently he heals himself whenever he lands a hit. Ain't life fun when you're Vect?
Vect is slightly more powerful than his statline suggests - he has a 6+ invulnerable save due to his wargear, and he always wounds on a 3+ (so despite the fact he's significantly weaker, physically speaking, than the Wolf Lord I mentioned earlier, he's quite likely to kill the guy in a straight fight) and ignores everything short of Terminator armour. His personal firearm (a pistol) is poisoned but not really able to penetrate heavy armour. However, he will be subject to Instant Death if struck with a Power Fist (as wielded by an Imperial Guard officer), Melta Gun, or anything more powerful than that. In-game, fights best with a squad of cronies to take heavy fire for him, while flying around on the Dais of Destruction butchering infantry.
So letting them get the drop on him or bring really heavy firepower to play wouldn't be advised (though I'm sure you can rustle up something to stop them from doing either of those things).
EDIT: Oh yeah, and he re-rolls To Wound rolls. And while his 'regeneration' thing only applies to wounds scored by his Obsidian Spheres (a neat little shooting attack that rolls against leadership instead of toughness and is very very dangerous), he also gains power with each enemy he kills.

"One thing, though- apparently the eldest goat is the bastard child of Muhammad Ali and the Hulk." ~ Exelixi, on The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The Dais and the retinue I had already planned, plus a... few extras. But thanks for the details, they have proven most useful.

Batman joke of the day:
"Alfred, I've been meaning to tell you, your cooking has taken a definite dive lately. Seriously, this tastes like crap in a bun."
"Master Wayne, do you know what happened to the last person to criticize my cooking?"
"No, what?"
"I hired a junkie off the street to shoot him, his wife, and their son as they were leaving a movie theater."

I'm reading that in Michael Caine's voice, and it is glorious.
Also, are the 'extras' from the 40k universe?
