That first one of the two guys dressed as Trolls would be excellent. Asking for permission from the photographer would probably be best if we want that exact picture.
But an equally (possibly better) alternative would be to find an online forum for LARPers and post asking them to suggest a good page image. If LARPers are anything like SCAdians, there will be lots of photos taken by the participants available, and the people on the forum will have an interest in picking a picture that doesn't make them look like geeks in bathrobes playing Star Wars with light sabers made of pool noodles.
I can't acces it now (at work), but I know some place in Quebec where they have LARP all-year long, and their website is full of pictures, so I,ll go check tonight and come back with some.
EDIT: the website is www.bicolline.org. I don't know if they have a English version though. Probably. Anyway, a google Image search with that name will yields what you need anyway. I'm going to go on it as soon as I can.

Would a page showing some SCA folks in full garb at an event, possibly in a joust or swordfight, fit for this?

Since LARP is one of those incredibly niche hobbies that people don't know about, I think it would be helpful if we had an image from an actual event. The whole concept can be difficult for some to wrap their brains around and to be perfectly honest, it'd be nice if we could post something on this wiki that's not a scene from Role Models or the "Lightning Bolt" video, since those are pretty cheesy examples.
Personally, I'd be curious to know whether or not it would be an issue if we used a picture from one of the ConQuest events that they hold in Germany. Several examples were published by Reuters recently, but I'm not sure whether we'd have a copyright issue associated with using them. Regardless, here's a link: http://uk.reuters.com/article/idUKRTR2H6EN
What do the other tropers out there think?
