I'm back.
But for now, I'm going to take a nap. All questions will be answered afterwards.
TVTropes Nuzlocke Thread. - Arceus Help Us All.I return with a double post.
Hydrall, you may make mechs for either side. But I won't accept every one. Too much to choose from will drive away players.
TVTropes Nuzlocke Thread. - Arceus Help Us All.That makes sense. Probably you should take the most interesting ones, or the ones that would be easiest to RP as. The Quicksilver? Easy. The Dipilot? While I love it and it is awesome, unless someone seriously wanted to RP with/as two people, it's probably relegated for Mooks or just scrapped.
Huh. So it must be.
Here's two Centauri Frames, then I'mma get to work on the works page. I guess I'll go with Galactic Soldier Troperion as a title, since nobody else had any input.
Or I didn't give you all enough time. Whatever.
edit: I ought to actually post the things I said I would, shouldn't I?
Since I'm bad at estimating weight, I left it out.
- NI-07 'Niot'
- Height 16.25m
- Armaments:
- x1 Nanite Rifle
- x1 Wrist Mounted Laser, for close combat.
- Armor Grade-Mid-class
- The Niot is a mid-range Frame with higher than average maneuverability. Its main feature is the rifle it carries, a massive, canister-firing weapon. These shells contain a large amount of nanomachines, which are programmed to sever all atomic bonds in the area. While they have short lifespans, the machines can quickly dissolve armor, which makes the Niot especially useful against heavily armored Frames.
- Produced by Nanofuture
- DW-24F 'Hive'
- Height: 18m
- Armaments:
- x1 Plasma Rifle
- x2 Beam Turrets (shoulder mounted)
- x1 Drone Hive
- Armor Grade- Heavy-class
- The Hive Frame is a support-assault Frame armed with powerful short range weapons... and its drones. These small machines, which come in a variety of forms, are armed with beam weaponry and sent out to attack the Hive's enemies. Their AI is simple, limited to attacking targets marked by the Hives as they lack the intelligence to distinguish friend from foe. However, if the targeted enemy lacks weaponry able to take down the quick enemies, they'll be left with only two options- Retreat or be picked to pieces.
- Some drones are small (3-8m) frames, while others are more or less guns on engines.
- Produced by the FTC Corporation
Companies:
- Nanofuture: A developer of nanotechnology. Deals with both life (medicine) and death (weaponry).

Where is all the info I need to read? I want to know how combat works so I can pick the best frame, and what the specifics of setting are (I read the first post, but...) and anything else I need to know, I don't wanna be stranded when I decide to jump in.

I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....I'm getting it all together. This is kinda tough on my crappy connection.
I made a signup thread here
, but I really have no idea what I'm doing since this is Lockon's idea and I'm a total newbie to the RP forum.
That's fine, so am I.
Unless you count my experience in WAOA, but I dropped out of that shortly after it was moved here.
I'll PM him if he doesn't post by the end of the day.
I'm going to sign up with what I can use for now, but how does the combat work? I understand we're doing a 2-GM Dice Game, but...what weapons do how much damage? Are there buffs/debuffs? Bonuses, etc.?
And can I help on the backstory, the Centauri side at least? I love writing for Monarchies.
Also, if we need a battle system solidified yet, I can probably bang one out for you.
edit: After reading Roll To Doge's page, I think I know what we're doing.
I WANNA START PLAYING, DAMMIT. >:[

I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Alrite, I'm just going to idea dump here and if you like my ideas you can use them, and if not than you dun have to! ^__^
Combat: I like the Roll to Dodge template, but I think that we should give weapons numbers that are added to the dice roll, with weaker weapons having higher hit-rates, but having negative numbers (subtracting from the dice roll) when calculating damage (I think it's best if we do those as two separate things, really), and have the inverse on more powerful weapons (no additions on the hit rate, and on the most powerful weapons, subtractions on the hit rate, but big bonuses on the damage done).
Similarly, I think we could have other equipment that affect the dice rolls in different ways. For instance, if one player checks their radar for enemies (in theory) and the other mecha has Electronic Countermeasures (a la, Battletech) the Countermeasures could subtract 1 from the "radar check" as it were and make that frame harder to detect....am I making myself clear? I fear I'm not. The above was an example.
I outfitted my own frame on the sign up page with stats, I'll post them here and explain what they do.
- x1 Nanite Sniper Rifle, less effective at short ranges than the standard Nanite Rifle. (-2, 2)
The two numbers behind it are Hit Rate (out of six, I presume, unless we're using 20-sided die, in which case I'll modify this) meaning, that it is harder for the sniper rifle to hit its target.
But, the second number is a damage modifier, +2, meaning that it adds two when damage is dealt (I am again assuming that this is a six-sided dice)
I think we should also come up with a system for determining the health of any given frame.
My proposition would simply be Height+Weight / 2, but that might be too complicated....

I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Complicated... Hmm. I understand what you're trying to say, but we'd need two very dedicated GMs for this. I have a lot of time on my hands, but... keeping all this together would be very hard.
I'm not so sure about damage values- My thoughts were that it would be an 'on your honor' system, and that players would defeat and be defeated as it went. But your whole electronic countermeasures thingy was exactly what I had in mind.
...And I'm suddenly wondering what I've gotten myself into.
If you want to do something less mathematical I can go with that.
It's just that, the only Tabletop I've ever played is D&D (however briefly) and I don't know how "on your honor" would work, it'd need to be explained to me. I honestly don't mind as long as I can figure out how it works, and paradoxically for someone who hates math, only numbers make sense to me in RPG's, so you'll have to explain it slowly and simply. I'm sorry, I don't want to drive anyone away, I'd like more players, actually.
Also, I'm going to change my frame.
edit: actually, I'll just mod a Spitfire. Is there a limit to weapon customization?
I wanna help with the frame-making too. If you don't mind.

I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Smaller level? My frame only had two (three if you count the wristblades as two).
Oh, okay, I see what you're saying.
No, I just wanted to make a stealthy frame, and maybe some sort of artillery piece, is all. I'll post them and tell me what you think (they'll need better names probably, which I'm not good with)

I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....- SF-18H 'Stalker (Mk XI)'
- Height: 12m*
- Armaments
- 2x Beam "Wristblades", functionally, identical to a beam saber, but with a shorter reach, one on each wrist.
- 1x 'Longshot' Sniper Rifle, used for long-range attacked, not very effective at short range.
- ECM (Radar-Jamming Electronic Countermeasures)
- Armor Grade: Light Class
- The Stalker is an aging design laid down by Lord Callat, having been in service for roughly two decades making it one of the oldest frames still seeing use (and the oldest Centauri frame, having seen eleven standard productions and a number of modified frames), it is a stealth-based frame, and is among the lightest frames in production. Stalkers are small, two-armed humanoids with a single "slit" viewport in the cockpit, giving it a one-eyed appearance. Specialized for maximum speed and outfitted with electronic countermeasures, and is very difficult to see on radar. Ideal for stealth and sniping missions, and frequently paired with Invokes for the latter.
- Produced Currently by the FTC Corporation, formerly produced by the Terai Corporation before they were bought out by FTC.

I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....- HAFP 'Albatross' (Prototype)
- Height 14m
- Armaments
- 1x Hadron Matter/Energy Compression Cannon (MECC), massive back-mounted cannon that draws energy both from the reactor and from matter loaded into its compression chamber (see below), the MECC takes an extremely long time to fire, and the Albatross must remain stationary while it fires, but the resulting blast is devastating.
- 5x Repeating Mini Lasers, used mostly for holding off enemies while the MECC charges.
- Armor Grade: Light
- The Albatross is the Centauri analogue to the Federation CVW, it is a squat, four legged frame with a bulky reactor used to power its main weapon. Flammable matter of any type may be loaded into the massive compression chamber that makes up the majority of the remainder of the frame's weight. Leaving it lightly armored. The Albatross is being considered for a pull from production, as the pilot fatality rate is a staggering 87.4%.
- Produced by the Arcon Corporation with a Royal Grant.

I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....*writes stuff*
Just the stuff that's relevant to the opening, we're at a truce conference gone horribly wrong right?
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....

It seems that Lockon is taking an extended leave, possibly permeanantly, from the forums. I still like this idea and would like to see it born. We can pick up more players and another GM if we have to once we start a sign-up sheet.
^ Hydrall! None of us Centuarians seems to know how to.
