CONTINUITY! The strange, unidentified machine Hobbes and his team encountered in that short I posted before was a prototype Centaurian power armor.

Shouldn't there be dedicated personnel for this? Since ships need defenses against boarding actions?

I wondered about that, Wryte! :D

Probably there should be a dedicated crack team of powered armor users, but since The Castellan is just hopping around after the failed peace conference it doesn't have all the personnel it ought to. We've only just gotten a proper engineering team.

[up][up] That would be less climatic?

Also, we're supposed to be crack soldiers. They are generally expected to be competent on the ground probably.

Timbits are Canadian things.

Also, Wryte seems to be like the godly talented can-do-everything type of guy to me.

Yes, I was asking if Doughnut holes were the American word for it.

Blugh. I am not confident in the least after that interview. My best hope is that everyone else applying is as woefully inexperienced as I am.

And :P @ neo

Do people still use swords for combat?

Wryte Since: Jul, 2010

I wouldn't think so. You Centaurian types might use them for duels, but otherwise I expect the gun is still king of infantry combat.

Swords are ceremonial things. The ones Knights carry as part of their dress uniform probably aren't even suited for sort of fighting besides whacks someone's butt with it.

If I recall correctly Colette used one to fight the bear-cat things on Yokolit.

Yokolitian cat-bear-things don't carry assault rifles.

Yeah, but it was probably just for ceremonial purposes or something.

Guns won't suddenly become powerless against melee weapons in the future, I think.

Oh, Alexei thought the same thing Jimmy was thinking. And you say he isn't leadership material.

Colette knows how to fight with a sword, though that's more of a hobby than something she expects to put to practice in battle.

...

Even though it turned out to be useful in fighting space creatures.

He's got Lorraine at stake here, he's got to go all out.

Alexei himself's going to be sneaking around most likely, and he'll probably be using knives.

Lots of them.

Of course a pair of mouseguns is always practical for when firearms are necessary and you can't pick one up offa a dead guy.
