Goddamn it's my favorite poem. I've actually taken a couple lines from it and incorporated into my life creed.

Still, the poem resonates with me because it mirrors my mentality - no matter the odds, no matter how likely failure seems, charge at life's hardships. Never give up. I guess you can call it stubborn bravado.

Still, great poem, great poem...

Unfortunately, the charge itself is a Senseless Sacrifice in and off itself. Poor Communication Kills indeed.

Oh well, there is a reason why General Antoine Lasalle said "Any hussar who is not dead by the age of thirty is a blackguard."

Yeah the charge itself was above and beyond merely being a failed military action.

Still, gotta give them credit for having the balls to charge on into certain death. And it made for a damn good poem.

It also made for an awesome song, when Iron Maiden did "The Trooper."

That it did. The Trooper is my absolute favorite song.
