...what's GOG.com?

Site where you could buy games on the cheap.

They used to have games available for digital download like Descent, Freespace, etc for cheap with no DRM.

BUT NOW THEY'RE GONE AND IT'S FUCKING TERRIBLE

Long live GOG.com?

That sucks royally. It also shows just how unreliable a DRM Free service would in fact be.

I stopped buying games from them after I bought Septerra Core, which didn't work, and their tech support people ignored me. Screw 'em.

And I simply download what I want.

Augh, this is horrible. That was, like, the best site. THE BEST.

It makes me wonder which particular publishers are responsible for this, and what they could possibly hope to accomplish besides driving everyone who was buying their games legally to piracy. You can't even GET so many of those games anymore.

Someone on GAF brought up that this could be them going out of beta since the site was always in beta.

If it is just a marketing stunt I'm going to be a little ticked off... but what makes you think this guy isn't just guessing?
