Bump.
Sorry 'bout this, but I had a question about Diana that I wanted to ask, and this seemed like a better place to ask it than creating a new thread.
Anyway, I'm trying to get a grasp on what her current powers are in the New 52 (i.e., what she can still do compared to her Pre-Crisis, Post Crisis, and Pre-New 52 self).
I know she is now the daughter of Zeus and Hippolyta, and has inherited some of his abilities, but I've been checking wikis, and I'm not totally sure what that means, so if someone can give me the lowdown on that, I'd be grateful.
One Strip! One Strip! There was a vague throwaway line in an old Justice League issue that was sort of inconclusive but some people have taken as confirmation that she's had sex with women before. Maxima is talking about men being able to satisfy women, and Wonder Woman says that men aren't necessary for such a thing. Maxima confusedly asks how Amazons got by without men to mate with (specifically asking her "How did you handle that?"), and Diana smiles, takes a big sip from her drink, and says "All I'll say is...we don't call it Paradise Island for nothing".

Right. Anyway, getting back on topic, what exactly are Diana's powers in the New52.
What can she still do compared to previous versions, and what can she do that she wasn't capable of before?
One Strip! One Strip!Having only read the first two trade collections, from what I can tell, Diana initially started with super strength and resilience, and possibly agility. So basically, the enhanced physical abilities that are par for the course for Greek heroic demigods. Then Hermes threw a feather at her and the quill poked her in the leg and then she could fly.
Also, her bracers are apparently power-limiters now and she becomes even stronger and faster when they come off. She still uses them to block bullets though, of course. The power-limiting thing is the only one I can think of that's really different compared to her previous incarnations.

Ah. I was aware of the Power Limiter effect that the bracelets now have.
I think that was used at another point in her history(with the caveat that it would drive her insane eventually).
Anyone know if there's anything else going on with her?
One Strip! One Strip!Nothing too new. Lasso, strength, agility, Nigh-Invulnerable, and I think that yeah, she can fly. Nothing too radical like being able to turn invisible or change shape. Orion's around with his Astro Force and New Genesis stuff, but she isn't using it herself.
I'm just wondering when the other Amazons are going to be turned back to normal now that Hera has learned some humility by being mortal.
Sometimes life just sucks. You have to learn to take the good with the bad. Why should you expect anything different in the mediums?Alright.
Eh, as long as I'm here, I'll ask one more thing:
Was the top of her old costume a Breast plate (as in made of metal) or did it just have gold trimmings?
In fact, outside of the bracelets, does the costume have any inherent abilities in it? The exact source of Diana's powers seems to be constanly changing (as her new status as the daughter of Zeus shows).
One Strip! One Strip!I think thats Depending on the Artist
the costume composition not the powers
The bracelets can form a small energy shield when brought together and are indestructible and the tiara doubles as a supersharp boomerang but I think thats it.

Ah. That figures. Guess I'll never be sure.
I'm on a roll so one last thing (hopefully): How tall is Diana?
I've seen her listed as both 5'11 and 6 ft?
I think the former makes more sense, though I understand there isn't too much of a difference between those two heights (merely an inch). She's supposed to be a Statuesque Stunner, so I want to be sure how tall she is exactly.
One Strip! One Strip!Again I think it is depending on the Artist but her official height is listed as 6 feet even apparently though slightly taller in heels.
Hey Agents of Shield is advertising on the DC Database. Thats both funny and a little sweet.
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsA question about pre-New 52 Diana: Why is it that among the gifts that she received from the Amazons' patron goddesses (and Hermes), the gifts of Super-Strength and Super-Toughness were tied to Demeter? She's an earth/mother goddess of fertility and nature; nothing in her portfolio really suggests that physical strength and durability are part of her purview. It would've made more sense if it were Athena (a war goddess) or Artemis (a hunting goddess).
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.![]()
"BY YOUR POWERS COMBINED, I AM CAPTAIN PL- no, wait, I'm Wonder Woman. That can't be right."
Seriously, though, what were the guys at DC thinking when they designated Demeter as the cause behind Diana's Super-Strength and Super-Toughness? IINM that part of the Amazons' background is a post-Crisis thing, and thus did not come from Wonder Woman's creator, so it's the work of whoever succeeded him in handling the Wonder Woman stories.
Ack, sorry. I'm a little distracted by a superhero-genre fanfic that I'm working on right now.
