Looking back, it's not like the original story was that epic in scope at first.
Also, Dmitri is still the best.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I'm still confused why Nogg's still trusted with a spaceship. You'd expect people to have him replaced with someone who's more competent and less callous by now.
And I also almost expect the new group to just start a mutiny, if only to prove that humans don't need overwhelming numbers to outsmart Nogg and his crew.
Also, wasn't the Spacetrawler page
actually more detailed at some point or am I misremembering things?

We learn from history that we do not learn from historyWell, I have to imagine that Nogg is still entrusted with a spaceship because, inasmuch as it is possible, it's kind of a Kicked Upstairs situation. I mean, you know he's going to screw things up no matter what, even if he happens to stumble his way into solving the problem. So you stick him in a spot where he does minimum damage - which happens to be far away, in space, and where you can direct him to where he needs to be (or where he can do minimal damage, as the case may be).
It's not so much that Nogg is entrusted with a spaceship. It's that they can't entrust him with anything else.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. They could still just shove him out the airlock, considering most of the people we see interacting with him at any point despise him.
It's funny. Despite all the horrible beings this webcomic has to offer, Nogg is actually one of the characters I personally despise the most. And I still haven't figured out if he's incapable of empathy or just too stupid to care what he does to other people's lives.
Well, he has to have at least some kind of conscience because he made the effort of informing Martina's father of her death and even stuck around to tell him the whole story.
I still don't know exactly why, but he's the one guy really grating on my nerves - and the Foregone Conclusion the new arc started with means we won't be rid of the guy anytime soon. :/
We learn from history that we do not learn from historyI'm curious what's going to happen when this team finds out that this is the second time Nogg's done this. I assume eventually the old team is going to meet the new team and exchange drinks.
On a more immediate note, Martina's brother needs to formally join the team. Right now he's kind of team-adjacent. Was Reemp planning on taking him elsewhere with the weapon, or using the civil war as a test run?
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.Well, there's the reasonable chance that they'll meet Emily, and a semi-reasonable chance that they'll meet Pierrot (depending on how busy they both are, though Emily's position means she might run across them as part of her job). Dmitri is always a possibility. For Yuri's sake, though, I hope they don't meet her. Let her have her rest.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Baldwin already confirmed
that Dmitri will have a minor but recurring role in the new story:
Jabby is very... enthusiastic, isn't it?
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Well, that answers the question of how Mauricio is going to join the crew for real. I think he's officially in the "has no choice" group.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.Huh... Krep seems much nicer than I remember.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.
I always considered him a Jerk with a Heart of Gold, to be honest.
Yes, but the "heart of gold" part seemed a bit more buried in the past.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Having his hero come back and then abandon him the second Krep wasn't acting like a clockwork soldier was the beginning. Martina's death hit him hard, too.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff. Also, Mauricio hasn’t done anything stupid (yet), so Krep doesn’t have any reason to dislike him (yet). And since he was a victim of Reemp, who I get the impression Krep didn’t like, Krep has a reason to sympathize with him.
But I'm sure sometime soon, Krep will be rolling his eye at Mauricio and calling him names.

Update.
The wheels are coming off Nogg's plan. Honestly, I'm surprised it took this long.
