I like it. That would explain his defection, he's out to collect lost souls, thus explaining the need to find him.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialOr perhaps instead of Urahara sealing the Hogyoku in Rukia, he sealed another object needed to make the King's Key? Or maybe rework the Hogyoku to be needed to make the King's Key. Make it so that Aizen would have to store the souls in that object.
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person. The Hogyoku is a massive Soul Jar!
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialHere's the outline I've made so far. Tell me what you guys think.

- Byakuya has Renji incarcerated for being defeated.

- Lt. Hanatarō is the one in charge of healing and interrogating them. Upon learning of their mission, Hanatarō reveals that Rukia is a friend of his and he has been petitioning his captain to try and stop the execution along with Captain Hitsugaya. Deciding to take matters into his own hands, he frees Ichigo and Ganju, as well as accompanying to the repentance cell.
- Renji, Izuru, and Momo also break out of prison, though separately.
- Chad and Orihime are confronted by Hitsugaya and Rangiku as they make their way towards the research facility to rescue Kon.
- Chad and Orihime vs. Hitsugaya and Rangiku: Team Hitsugaya is winning, but are forced to retreat due to news of mass break outs.
- Chad and Orihime proceed into the Research Facility and manage to retrieve Kon's capsule form. It turns out Mayuri was experimenting on it before it was supposed to be destroyed.
- Chad and Orihime notice a large suit of armor in the corner and insert Kon into it.
- Team Ichigo arrives at the repentance cell, only to be stopped by Byakuya. Byakuya releases, making short work of Ganju and Hanatarō.
- Unohana shows up in time to prevent Ganju and her Lt's death.
- Yourichi appears, whisking Ichigo away to a safe place.
Tell me if you think it's too convulted, there's something you don't like, etc., etc....

You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.I like the Kon armor. I would also like to raise my previous idea of Kon being used as a bug for the good guys.

I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialThis is the only bit I don't like. The Left for Dead thing requires Byakuya to be very Genre Blind. However, Ichigo running away instead would be out of character for him. Can anyone else think of a way for Ichigo to not die during this fight?

Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information.Urahara pulls him out. Think about it. He needs him to secure Rukia, thus securing the Hogyoku from SS and Aizen, one of his primary objectives. Just as Byakuya is about to kill Ichigo, Urahara swoops in and drags a kicking and screaming Ichigo back to Urahara Shoten.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialThis is a really long term question, but I'm wondering if Ichigo will ever learn Bankai in this version of the continuity?
If so, will it be mostly the same, or will it be different?
Thing is, seeing the Ichigo vs Ulquiorra fight animated, I thought that if they clashed in this version again, then it could be the perfect opportunity for him to get his Bankai at a more legitimate time and for a somewhat more legitimate reason, that being that it's what he needs to evenly match Ulquiorra's second release rather than going uberhollow.
Any thoughts on this?
Ulquiorra won't have a second release, and neither will anyone else.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialnope. "the same but more" is still pretty useless.
Is there anyone who's bankai would actually make more sense than their shikai? Tosen, yes, but he's not in this.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyTo be honest I'm liking my outline less and less the more I look at it. I might take it all the way back to the drawing board.
About the Kon Armor: It's a special battlesuit developed by Soul Society R&D designed to augment a Soul Reaper's natural abilities and provide extra protection to the wearer. More specifically, it's a prototype, which explains why everyone doesn't have one. And Kon most likely won't be able to keep the armor, sticking him with the lion doll body.
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.^I liked it.

I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialHello, Lunatique here. I'm a real-life friend of K*spam's. He's the one who told you he knew someone who could help out illustrating every once and a while. Well, that's ME! *Evil laughter* ![]()
Unfortunately, my computer crashed about a week ago, and I'm still in the process of re-installing my tablet stuff. So, for now, I'm just going to use the school scanner to upload some of my spantabulous, lurvely hand-drawn arts. I don't know when this will get done, but they'll probably be up by next monday on my DA if all goes well.
So, yeah... Just reply if you want me.
I haven't read the new stuff yet, but I will when finals are over.
Welcome, Lunatique!
The sad, REAL American dichotomy

We could have Aizen create a sort of soul receptical/storage unit for storing lost souls to go towards the King's Key instead of him trying to do the whole shebang in one go.
The whole SS arc would be Aizen's testing phase to see if it works.
Predictably, it works.
EDIT: As for targeting Rukia specifically, we could make Byakuya be skeptical of Aizen's methods as a captain and/or be a bit nosy regarding Urahara's involvement with Aizen, which in turn gives Aizen an excuse to be a dick towards him via Rukia.
