Whoa! NOW marks the beginning of the Steam Holiday Sale!

More than 1,000 sales right now, and it's hard to see them all! Yikes!

Tibetan Fox: Today, I was a cheap bastard and get Recettear for $5.

I love the irony inherent in that statement.

Also, thanks to J Bridge for buying me that same set, along with Deus Ex. I have yet to play the last one; though I've now played Recettear more than I should have, and have also beaten And Yet It Moves and Puzzle Agent.

FWIW Thief 2 has been on sale all this time for $10 (normally $20), but Aquaria has not been on sale at all for some reason.

Recettear seems to be on sale all this time for $10 (normally $20) as well, but two days ago it was further discounted to $6.80.

Okay, I'd like to know who is the guy who plotted to steal my money by putting Trackmania United, City of Heroes, and Sam & Max on sale during the same timeframe*

I've reluctantly forced myself not to buy games on Steam just because they're on sale. Sure, Brothers In Arms sounds like a good series, but I know from experience that once I actually buy it it'll turn out to be badly dated and not worth the money, just like all the other old shooters I've bought from Steam sales. (Seriously, if Max Payne was a high-water mark of early shooters, I don't even want to think about what the average game in the genre must have been like pre-Bioshock.)

I wonder what the chances of finding Last Remnant and Shogun 2 on sale are.

I don't go on Steam very often. Also, I wouldn't spend any less than full price on Recettear, just because.

Steam needs more j-gamer stuff. Then again, so does the whole computer platform.

^Yeah, except that we'd get console ports and the fact that the PC library in Japan contains stuff that is NSFW, if you know what I'm getting at.

I do think, however, that it's still viable for Indie titles.

Funny jokes, funny jokes.

I would definitely like to see Steam pick up some generally older games and the sort of PC games that groups have available on Steam. For instance, the Sega games available for download on Amazon, such as the Original Sonic 2D collection[1] [2], [3], Sonic Adventure DX[4], Billy Hatcher[5], and various other classic titles[6] [7]. The console platform is dying out, and Square already re-released several of older titles for download on the Play Station Network and Nintendo Virtual Console, it'd be nice to see them at least revamp and make a decent release of their terrible Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII ports. It would certainly pay off, Final Fantasy VII already being the number one best seller on all of the Play Station Network.

They could also use the newer Capcom titles as Capcom is becoming more PC friendly(they're already learning that the console is a dying platform on it's way out), such as Devil May Cry 3[8], Devil May Cry 4[9], Onimusha 3[10], and Street Fighter IV[11]. There are also Konami titles already made for PC hardware as well, like in the Silent Hill series.

There is also Blazblue, Castle of Shikigami(Mobile Light Force 2 needs to die in a fire), and various other Japanese PC titles that need to become more available. Heck, there needs to be the same for many Western titles. For instance, Psychonauts and Grim Fandango could use a downloadable purchase many places.

^ I don't know about all of those, but doesn't Steam already sell the early Sonic games?

So far, the daily sales are... well... I just didn't bother yet. Still waiting for that Summer Sale to commence.

[up][up] Oh, and Psychonauts is easily available on Steam and GOG. Even if it doesn't go on sale, it'll be well worth the $10.

To me, it's inevitable that there will be a summer sale in a mere few days from now, given the time it lasted last year.

Oh yeah, and I sincerely hope that Sonic Generations ends up on Steam, considering that I heard Sega is gonna have a PC version of that.

So I bought MNC off sale.

I have no idea how to play this game and I don't have any friends.

On Steam.

Or everywhere else.

But hey, three dollars.

This Thursday is likely going to be the start of the Summer Sale.

Why? Because Midweek Madness this week ends at 10 AM at day, and Midweek Madness sales usually end around 4 PM. Steam updates with new sales at 10 AM everyday, so...

SUMMER SALE (I think)!

This is going to be torture, I just ran out of money on my debit card and I don't think my dad will put more money in so I can blow it all on games.

Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!

I admit, I'm not too impressed with this sale so far, but I did spend $5 on Capsized. God knows there aren't enough good platformers for the PC, and I've already earned every achievement on Trine.

I dunno...

But there is Oblivion on sale (also Back To The Future, which I got).

Also, unless you don't have $12.50, there's no excuse in NOT getting Borderlands GOTY AND Recettear. tongue
