Let's all moan at one another about how sucky we feel. It can't hurt worse than our sinuses already do!
I've got a runny/stuffy nose and a sore throat to match. I woke up this morning feeling unusually better about it than I had been, thinking, "Hey! Maybe it blew over already...!" Ha. As if. Being able to talk sure would be nice.

A design flaw rather than an illness, but the season for uncomfortable postnasal drip has begun. Note to self: sleeping while on decongestant does not work very well, even though said medicine does.
whoever wrote this shit needs to step on a rake in a comedic fashionI have a mild cold thing. Stiff joints, mildly irritated throat and lethargy.
Who watches the watchmen?I have a nasty cold at the moment. Blech. Fuckin' winter.

I guess it is.@Black Hole
You got me sick again.
I was mistaken—I'm just legitimately sick. I think I caught my sister's cold.
This is the second time in a row this has happened right before finals. :|

whoever wrote this shit needs to step on a rake in a comedic fashionThis morning, I vomited most of last night's dinner. Feels nasty.
Scar status: Still dilated, still dark. Taking my meds.
New ailments: sore back.
the statement above is falseSore throat, freezing feet, headache.
And a mountain of work to do. Not the best of combinations.
This is this.I woke up On Halloween with a sore throat. I coughed and sneezed flourescent green plegm for about a week and a half. Then I got better. I went to visit my husband and in-laws in upstate NY (I live in Ontario) for Thanksgiving.
Friday after, hubby and I go for a walk. That night, I wake up five separate times because I'm freezing. That morning, I'm literally dying from a fever. I was supposed to leave the day after that, but I went to the ER insead where they had to give me antibiotics for a horrible, terrible sinus infection. It is now a week later. I've been coughing up everything that leaked down my throat in my sleep, but at least my throat is not sore. No more horrible sinus headaches.
Although that totally explains why I was feeling tired for the past two months. My immune system was basically overclocked the entire time, I just didn't always know it. Now I'm feeling better in time for exams! x_x oy.
ShineI got my tooth pulled today and I'm kind of miserable.
On the bright side, the medicine seems to be working well.
My neck muscles are giving me trouble. I think I need to talk to my sister's excellent chiropractor.

"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaFUCK THIS SINUS INFECTION
JESUS CHRIST IT'S LIKE SOMEONE'S PUNCHING ME FROM THE INSIDE OF MY FACE. RAAAEEEEG.
I bet if these antibiotics don't work, they'll have to do a third sinus surgery on me. Which is fine. I'm supposed to get one done about every two years or so. But man it fucking hurts. On the plus side I, get good pain pills.
Oh hey, this thread.
I came home from school because I vomited into a trash can. That was a little over an hour ago. Just ten minutes ago, I threw up into the toilet. It'll probably happen again, soon, judging from my stomach. And my mom and step-dad currently have it, too, and they've both gotten diarrhea. Oh, and I'm drinking flat ginger ale for the sole purpose of having something in my stomach.
This is going to be a fun couple of days.

Everest, my dad and I just got over that.
Oh. Well, looking at the other things you've posted, you have it worse, judging from the sinus surgeries and all.
I've been having a lot of headaches recently. It's partly because I have terrible sleep patterns.

You're an ad hominem attack!More minor than most, but currently have a cold and back pain.
Very loud sneezes.
Got me a case of the shingles...
Managed to go an hour and a half before throwing up this time. And I got some sleep too. Now let's see how chicken soup treats me.
EDIT: And then about ten minutes after that. It was mostly ginger ale and spit this time, though.

I liken college to running through a minefield when it comes to sickness especially during these months. It always seems like EVERYONE ELSE is sick but you, and it's only a matter of time before you fall. I made it this far. And suddenly, without the usual sore throat warning of one or two days, I woke up this morning and was plunged into the nose-running stage of a fairly standard cold.
It's superior to being in pain or having diaherrea (spell check doesn't recognize that and suggests only "diehard", not the proper spelling, heh...) but I had forgotten how much it sill sucks. In addition to the constant annoyance of a substance attempting to emerge from your nose (it's a bigger deal than you think), I feel like my brain's been wrapped in fabric. Movement, thought, and speech require a noticeably higher degree of effort. Motivation to do anything meaningful evaporates, yet my "super busy week" mindset leaves me terrified to watch anime again for fear of addiction.
I would post a Facebook status complaining about this like everyone else does but...
- I'm under a standing parental order not to post any statuses that are at all negative in nature, after some complain-y status of mine about something really trivial caused a close friend's mother (who I'm only friends with on Facebook because it would kind of be rude not to, not because she means anything to me) to make a critical comment about it to my mom, who was horrified.
- People would offer so much stupid advice that I would never (have never!) take anyway. I really do not want to hear about soup or flavored beverages (i.e. not water) of any sort containing Vitamin C, or tea, or any kind of medicine, because I'm not doing any of that.
If I was to make a status it would just be to inform people that I'm sick. Pure information so they know not to assume I'm fine and healthy. As if they even think about me anyway...
Because I'm a stupid crazy optimist and I believe ridiculous stuff about medical stuff, I have theorized that because my cold came so fast without the usual sore throat, it will go away just as fast and be much lessened in 2 days, when I have 2 tests that I'm not so ready for, plus an important meeting with a career center advisor before that.
Flora Segunda | World Made By Hand | Monster Blood Tattoo ^You should read these series.I officially have the flu. I've called two E Rs, one in my city, one in a city about 25 miles away. There's an outbreak of influenza apparently, because both have said that they're swarmed with people sick with it. Tuesday I woke up and threw up. Been feeling bad since then, very weak and whatnot. Now my glands are swollen and my fever is 100 as of right now. Oh, did I mention that it's 70 degrees and I'm fucking SHIVERING? Because I am.
-sigh-
And RIGHT when I got over a sinus infection
I'm rather odd.
I want to get sick and I'm frustrated that I have not yet gotten the flu.
So... I went to shower this morning, and took off the bandage from my neck... and part of the scar was black. I freaked the fuck out. All sorts of horror scenarios pplayed in my mmind, including Necrosis (thank you, XKCD, for introducing that nightmare to me). I called the hospital, and they said that it's just dried blood, and it will go away after a few showers.
The dilation on my neck is a meatoma; after the surgery, there's some internal bleeding, and it filled the area. It will go down in a week or bit more, all I can do is wait. The nurse at the phone suggested I wear shirts with a high collar.
