The demon continued it's incesant walk at his objective. There was no need to hurry, it would always know where it's target was. The demon could feel her no matter how far away she was. Right now it was just ordered to watch, but at any moment it's orders could change.
The demon stopped in it's walk while it passed through a park.
Gone.
Suddenly it couldn't feel her presence. While Max sat on a bed in apartment some block away the pursuing demon lost all track of her.
While it was beginning to wonder if the pesky feathered angels had acted before it, the demon felt another thing. A small prescense behind it.
The demon turned to see a young human holding a stick.
"Hey there, sorry but I got to stop you here. I don't like your kind strolling around in my block" The impertinent monkey said at the demon in challenge.
Very well, it didn't have a lot of time to play with him but a little excersice would be good to work out the frustration of losing track of the girl for now.
The demon adjusted the gloves on the body it wore, it's gaze set on what would soon be mangled and bloody mess.
Karasu Tengu figured it would be time to meet with one of his little friends, and flew into a mirror that let him traverse the world easily. The demonic crow soon found itself in a small, abandoned home, and patiently waited for its little meatsack friend to show up. He had met the boy years ago, when he was in middle school. Now, Karasu kept tabs on his little pets and made sure they would be ready for their part in the Xanatos Roulette.
The Rain Crow started his part, and he moved his claw, and some magic power flowed over the teenage swim team captain. More muscle where it counted for swimming, his lungs would be amplified to have a greater capacity, and some special additions would be activated later at his own discretion.
The Rain Crow even threw in even better looks for his pet.
Of course, he knew there were deeper things the pet wanted, and he wanted those to go to the surface.

Roger was overcomed with a sudden burning feeling all around his body that lasted only a few seconds before it was gone, leaving only a rush of euphoria behind it.
"Damn man... that was... God... that was the real deal. What did you do?"
"I'm pretty important alright, but not the way you think Max" Sue said as she entered the room again sitting at her desk once again and turning the chair to face at her with serious eyes "I'm actually a spiritual advisor, from a long line of women with a deep connection to the forces of the universe"
Which was of course a lie, but it sounded like what the "spiritual advisors" from accepted society said to their clients. The D&D lie didn't give her enough creative freedom to do what she must. Sue only hoped Max would believe her and that she wouldn't have to go look for her mom's incense and tarot cards.
"To say the truth I'm still in training... but I can clearly see a dark shadow above your shoulders. If something isn't done soon I believe the shadow shall taint your aura and bad luck and misfortune will soon haunt your steps" Sue continued, which wasn't a total lie, there was a dark shadow. The fact that it was arguing with an angelic figure was something that she could omit.
With those two talking all day and night around her I wouldn't be surprised if her subconscious is a real mess...
The demon was suprised when the boy swung his little stick at it and it actually hurted. It kicked at the young boy, making him lose his breath in the process, to keep him away from it while it inspected the wound on it's shoulder.
It was bruised and it looked quite nasty. The demon absentmindely started the healing process while it took a more detailed look at the young human while he was rising to his feet once again. The monkey boy looked much or less like a normal especimen of his species but now it noticed what was different. The boy and his silly stick where imbued with some sort magic.
That explained why the boy attacked and why his attack had, more or less, been effective. That made the little young human a tad more dangerous. The demon made a note not to let himself be touched by the bothersome stick as it walked towards it's prey once more.

"In other words, we lied about the roleplaying thing, Max," Felix said. "Sorry. I wasn't sure if we should let you into out secret, but it looks like you're already a part of it, whether you know about it or not. I'm sure there will be more explanation, but, sorry, again, for lying to you."
Hey look!. Yu-Gi-Oh meets wrasslin'!"Round 1. Ready? Fight."
Cade was watching from a nearby tree, having gotten some chips from a nearby vending machine. Which admittedly he took a while to figure out.
"Hope the kid's got something a little more potent than the stick, otherwise this will be over rather shortly."
Fear the Gothilolions! | Anime listSue turned to see Dario "Do you practice being that blunt or does it just come naturaly to you?" Se then moved closer to him, speaking in a low voice "Look, I don't know what Gabriel promised you. There is something I can do for you. I rather not do it, especially to somebody that seems to take this as a game, but I owe him a favor"
"These guys?" Roger stared at the images for a few seconds "I recognize some from school, they must have really pissed you off..." Still playing as the justice bringer for this guy was a very small price to pay for what he felt "Still consider it done"
Gabriel stood up slowly, breathing hard after that kick.
I might have underestimated him a little...
He had fought with a demon once. Sure, it was with his exorcist friend chanting non-stop besides him but Gabriel hadn't thought the difference would be this much.
Time to get serious then
Gabriel gripped his sword harded, concentrating as Sue had taught him. Soon his body felt a lot lighter, the world came into an even greater focus as he felt his sense sharpening. He could even see a small aura around his sword growing stronger.
Round Two here I go

Max sat, still crosslegged on the bed, pondering for a long time. She looked very serious, nodded, and then smiled. "It looks like the game has taken a new turn!....I must be the most important player! The fate of winning rests in my hands! And the dark shadow...is the bad guy?...Or the good guy?"
Max smiled at Felix. "Thanks again for letting me play...This is an awesome twist to the game! Well, we'd better do something about this dark shadow that seems to love me. Hmmm...We'll have to level up to defeat it!"
Cria fama y echate a dormir MusingsFelix mentally sighed.
"It's not a game," he said to both Max, "it's not fake. What's happening is dangerous. And Sue, I know it's not a game- Dario's a bit... out there some times. Then again, I'm one to talk... But what do we need to know to survive here?"
Hey look!. Yu-Gi-Oh meets wrasslin'!"Exactly what he says. Real life, I practice being a lazy-ass guy at a school that bores the hell out of me. Fantasy life, sure there's the downsides of mortal danger and crappy living conditions but it's bound to be more exciting than what I'm in right now."
Though he did say that the new life would be better, it still scared Dario a good bit once he realized what he himself said. Mortal danger. Well, his pride wasn't going to let him back down at that point so nowhere to go but forward.

Directly when demon-fighting had been mentioned did Klaus do as he was told by Gabriel and went home. However, halfway home, in the park where he used to walk his family's dog, did he see one of his new friends. It was Gabriel that was standing about a hundred yards up ahead on the path.
"Scheisse, he has that wooden sword of his out, and doesen't it even glow a little... Wait a minute, that means that the guy in front of him is, is the demon... Oh crap, he told us to go home so he could take care of the demon without any of us getting hurt and now heis blocking theway home."
A large part, the realistic part of Klaus wanted to run away from the fight. However, another, larger part, the fantasy geek one, raised on fantastic stories his enire life did not want to abandon somebody who he, together with, had killed a troll. Aragorn son of Arathorn did not abandon a friend. Neither did Klaus Weissbach.
Hiding behind a tree at a safe distance would hopefully not count as abandoningGabriel...
Klaus is hiding behind a tree in the park watching Gabriel's epic demonslaying.
OK, ONLY ONE POST FROM ME TONIGHT. GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY.

I reject your reality and substitute my own!!!Where were the cameras? Gawd this must be a live movie set, sweet! That demon thing looks freakin real!
But there were no security guys shooing them from the area. Weird. Of course it had to be a movie, the guy had a prop sword. Maybe it was some sort of university stunt. He crept closer, wanting to get a better look, watching out for any cameras or camera guys.
Why weren't there any set crew people around?

“Human beings are the only animals of which I am thoroughly and cravenly afraid.”—George Bernard ShawSue nodded her head once seeing the determination of those two "I still think you're over your heads with this... but at least you got the right attitude"
"I guess Gabriel didn't explain what I can do for you" The witch said while adjusting her glasses slightly "It's kind of a long explanation if I go into details so I'll give you the short version. Humans, to different degrees in the past where capable of generating magic. That's an ability that has been lost or dormant to us since quite some time.... so what I'll do is give it back to you"
Gabriel's second attack was a lot different than the first. He moved faster, his blows hit harder. He jumped way higher that he should be able to strike from above at the demon.
And it just took all of it. The demon's body was a complete mess, fingers broken, bleeding from a lot of wounds and bruised all over.
And yet it keeped standing up and reaching for Gabriel like it was nothing.

as Ira is about to walk in, the guy that leaves dashes out, bearing a sword.
Waitaminit. Sword? No way. that was fucking cool. Following after is a guythat literally vaults buildings. Way cool!
Better than sniffing burgers he couldn't afford, the innate coolness of the situation prompted him to follow after the sword guy. Maybe as long as he could see that guy who vaults buildings he could follow. Explosions, red eyed girl that nobody seemed notice, guys with swords and superpowers. Hell ya!
