Hey, anybody remember that one time when Gainax did their own remix of Cutie Honey and it had never EVER got an English dub for almost 20 years now?
WELL, IT'S GETTING AN ENGLISH DUB NOW!

So.
Does anyone know the manga Cesare - Il Creatore che ha distrutto?
It's about Cesare Borgia when he was a teenager (and for some time after but I'm not sure how far it goes).
I saw the musical and I'm obsessed.
I'm trying to read the manga in Japanese, it's a lot of kanji and walls of text (in between the amazingly detailed and historically accurate art) but it's so worth it.
It's just basically... historical nerdery with pretty boys and pretty art. I'm like... desperate to talk about it with someone.

Okay, so we just learned yesterday that that Pluto anime is actually real and going to release on Netflix
Today it turns out that Maomao is finally getting animated
Oh my God it's finally happening! I wished they'd binned Y.Aoi as her va though, she's a great voice actor but I don't think she's all that good as a Mao Mao from what I've heard of her voice in the role. Maybe it'll be better in the anime, I dunno.
They should absolutely bin Sakurai Jinshi though
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysAnyone heard about that new series Cypher Academy? I don't really read much manga but this has apparently been getting some mad publicity because translators/localizers keep quitting in frustration.
The whole thing is apparently built around — as the title suggests — cyphers, riddles, and complicated wordplay that are nigh-impossible to properly translate without either rendering it as gibberish or including mountains of explanatory footnotes.
One podcaster I heard talking about it compared it to trying to translate "Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo" into Japanese while still retaining both the meaning and the joke that it's the same word over and over — it's maddening.

So, I just watched the first episode of Life Lessons with Uramichi-Oniisan.
Oh my God. This is the most single most relatable piece of anime I've ever watched, especially because the MC and I both are around the same age and work in an entertainment sector that is forced to be cheerful and try not to let real life bleed into.
This is simultaneously hilarious and depressing to watch!
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.
