Ran across a few new(ly translated) manga and thought I would mention them.
Gangsta (oh hey someone not me made a wiki entry for this) involves a couple of hardcore mercenaries and a prostitute in an unknown country. It feels like what Dogs Bullets & Carnage could be if the artist actually bothered to draw backgrounds once in awhile.
Arachnid is the story of spider-girl...no wait, she's a girl, who gets trained by a spider-themed assassin. The first volume has an ending that I didn't think would happen for another ten chapters, but it came surprisingly fast. I guess it's a good thing the "origin" story's over, so we are in the "what now?" stage of the plot.
Absorb Ability (fuck you random semi-colon) involves a strain of influenza that can turn people into furries or bird-people. Except that there's one boy who fights them with a different strain of the different strain. And his friend is Made of Iron. So I guess it's a series of people who are Cursed with Awesome?
In any case, I like all three so far, and there's only a handful of chapters for each so you don't have to Archive Binge yet.
Oh, Japan.

Even regular economics can be surprisingly awesome given the right atmosphere and characters.
Just started watching So Ra No Wo To. The OP is so obviously Kalafina. :3
Well, that was a pretty calming and amusing episode...

Is that anime any good? Never watched it.
Nasu Kinoko, exactly what kind of fetish is it that you have with eyeballs?
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial![]()
It's described as "K-On! in the military". But Commander Obvious says it's more than that, so I'm willing to watch it. I'm only on the first ep, so I can't really say.
Eyeball fetish? He doesn't use it as much as, say, seafood metaphors.

Hey! Don't diss the Nasu!
I just keep wondering why almost everything he does is related to eyes. In Kn K and Tsukihime, we have the Mystic Eyes. In Canaan, Canaan's eyes change color nigh constantly, and probably tie into her powers somehow (still haven't finished it). Why the fascination with eyes? *

Still, just to see it used so often by one author is a little strange. There is definitely some Author Appeal there, I just hope it's not the creepy kind.
Also, what sex scene now?

Which reminds me, the Mystic Eye of Death Perception is the coolest Evil Eye EVER. Sharingan and Geass can shove it. By the way, I'm the one who uploaded the picture in that page because...SO PRETTY!

Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.
Totes.

So, I've just started watching Shion No Ou, because hey, "Tournament Arc + murder mystery" sounded fun (and I wondered how a mute main character would work).
First WTF moment : the OP
. Hilariously over-the-top. (Was that a sad attempt to jump onto the Death Note bandwagon ?)
Second WTF moment : The Reveal about you-know-who, two thirds of the way through the first episode. That's a very ballsy move straight out of the gate, and proof that the writers weren't afraid of putting it some very stupid (but attention-grabbing) stuff. It worked, because I'm hooked now, despite knowing absolutely nothing about shogi.
