From its Premise, and the abuse of Unprovoked Pervert Pay Back and Pervert Revenge Mode, I'm probably not even gonna watch it period.

I watched the first season when it aired and thought it was good enough to watch, but decided not to follow the second one that's airing right now.

I think I enjoyed the gags at first, but now when I look back on it they just seem unoriginal and overused. Oh well.

Watched most of the first season of Baka Test. I really liked it so far, though I'm saving up my money to buy the dub before I finish the rest of it.

The second season has been very disappointing so far, though. The "tests" side of the series has been completely sidelined, and instead we get stale "pervert" jokes. I much, much preferred the show when class F worked as a team than this annoying "boys vs. girls" setup we're now stuck into.

Does anyone else find Shojo manga tend to open by being largely incomprehensible (some continue this trend long after the first volume)?

I'm not the target audience I know, but I still wonder if I've just been unlucky in my choice of manga, or if it's just me.

[up] Let's see, I started with Sailor Moon which has huge chunks of text to explain the story, and poorly meshed aciton scenes. But that's from the nineties, and has a straightforward anime adaptation, so yeah.

I've also read the fairly obscure Time Stranger Kyoko, and found it kind of painful to try and follow.

More recently I've tried to pick up Fairy Cube, but it seems like stuff (admittedly slow-paced and ordinary stuff) is happening, and I'm still trying to figure out who these people are and what the setting is.

Yeah, I'm sure there are plenty of shojo stories out there that are perfectly normal, but I'm pretty sure that there are other examples I missed as well, so I was just wondering if anyone had noticed this was a thing or something.

It struck me when I started reading it that the Sailor Moon manga has terrible storytelling (and no backgrounds). It's only a few volumes in that it starts being halfway competent.

The Sailor Moon manga (at least in the beginning) has horribly untidy art and storytelling. The pastel color cover art is sublime though. The manga itself does seem to get better eventually (I remember enjoying Vol. 8 very much), but I wanted to marathon the series at some point and just could not manage to get through the first couple volumes because it was just so bland. And I don't want to watch the anime because I have horrible memories of the atrocious Malay dub. (Malaysia's dubbing companies are worse than shit.)

...maybe I'll pick up the manga again someday. It seems a bit ridiculous to be an anime fan and not have read at least a significant amount of Sailor Moon. I feel like I've spent more time reading Sailor Moon fanfiction than the actual series itself.

[up][up]Is the new BRS related to the OVA?

[up]No Idea. But all we know so far is that the supervisor of the OVA is completely uninvolved with this new show.

Does anyone have a link to those recommendation compilation images? There were two parts, if I recall correctly...It's that one that has suggestions based on whether you're looking for scenery porn/good battle choreography/art/etc.

I'm sorry that this isn't terribly specific—I only vaguely recall them.

I finished Welcome To The NHK. It seems fitting enough, although I heard the endings in the light novel and manga were different.

I liked the Background music episode 24 opens with though, so it's a shame it doesn't seem to be on the soundtrack.
