And the entire plot of Eden Of The East. You all need to watch that, btw.

How do you pronounce "Planetes"?

I would pronounce it pla-ne-tez. A quick look on Google/Wikipedia (it's the first Google result) tells me that it's "プラネテス, Puranetesu"... so excluding me using a slightly different end of the word, I'm right.

Yotsuba&! is pretty much the awesomest manga ever.

Also, as to where you can find Cowboy Bebop dubbed in English, just go on You Tube. I'm pretty sure they're all there. If not, just try typing something like "watch cowboy bebop dub" into Google and you should find it.

Since it's greek originally I'm guess for something like "plan-et-es"

Hmmm, right, right. I was just having one of my hypothetical conversations, see, trying to explain to my sister the difference between geeks and nerds by giving her examples of stuff nerds would love more than geeks and vice-versa, and I thought that nerds would rather watch Gurren Lagann, while geeks would love Planetes, and I was like "... wait, how the hell is that pronounced. Pla-NEA-tuhs? Pluh-neddies?"

I didn't even consider the idea that since it's not an originally American series, I wouldn't have to pronounce it in an American fashion. tongue

I think you've got geeks and nerds backward there.

I agree with Faw on which is which. Geeks are really good at math or science or whatever and thus would enjoy the mundane sci-fi, whereas nerds just like things that aren't mainstream and thus would enjoy the AWESOME.

I guess it is.

As long as you acknowledge there can and is a great deal of overlap between the two. It's not like all geeks would dislike Gurren Lagann on the grounds of not being hard enough on the sliding scale.

In other news, I am currently on a "there is 1+ feet of snow on the ground" induced Kanon marathon, comparing KyoAni's snow effects with the real thing outside my window.

Well, obviously the two overlap. Majorly, too. I ended up dropping that comparison and using Star Trek and Star Wars instead, since the former is explicitly about a bunch of scientists exploring stuff while the latter just uses the sci-fi setting to tell what is basically a modern fairy tale.

I just watched the sixth episode of Spice And Wolf, so I'm done the first arc (and what I assume is the equivalent of the first book). It was pretty decent, if not the greatest thing I've ever seen. I certainly want to watch more.

I guess it is.

The Girls' Love binge continues. By tonight, my Mari Mite download should be over, after which I'll go hunting for Aoi Hana again. Currently on Strawberry Panic episode 6.

@Faw: Uh, Star Trek was pretty much drama confronting pressing issues in the less-network-monitored format of the science fiction show.

and installing it isn't the most intuitive process in the world.

When people say this I wonder if I should feel lucky for only having had to double-click a few Icons to install and run it. Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, on the other hand, is proving to be a bitch to find... but I'm not sure if it's already translated, anyway.
