So you're saying Benjamin Franklin was a dupe and utterly insignificant?
Or do you mean to say that the Migration was to Nova Scotia and they retook the old Thirteen Colonies later, then insisted 'We Have Always Been At War With Eastasia'? Because even if that's the case, the differences in personalities and experiences and resources necessary to generate that model mean that the fork(s) have to have started earlier; what was different about the Lion of Naples that he didn't sell the Louisiana Territory, resulting in a sufficient strain on the penned-in US's resources that a British government in exile could take them down? Did the French not make the catastrophically stupid mistake of putting Montcalm in charge of holding Québec? What was different about the entire French Revolution? What's up with your version of Talleyrand? Of Marat?

You know, it wasn't until I actually visited America that I really got why people got so upset about the things said in Code Geass about Franklin. (And to be fair, I still find the way certain historical figures are put on such jingoistic pedestals rather baffling - she says, coming from a country who's most famous historical figure killed policemen
.)
Hell, I'm Canadian and I was a bit miffed; Franklin's one of those yanks (like FDR) who falls under the Pretty Cool Guy heading.
And don't be ridiculous, Drakyndra! Kelly's someone you only hear about over here if you saw the movie with Heath Ledger.

A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!I only really knew Franklin for the inventions and scientific stuff which I still find more interesting, honestly. Yay electricity!
Shame on you. Man was the subject of the first ever feature film
.
...To bring this vaguely back on topic, what is in Geass-verse Australia? Since we know people live there, yet it's independent of all major powers...
The owner of this account is temporarily unavailable. Please leave your number and call again later.C'mon, folk, say something. I'm down and could do with light-hearted banter.
So in other words you never bothered to find out.
What's that saying about history lessons and doom, again?
... set up a widows-and-orphans' fund? Nothing like giving the next generation fewer reasons to hate your guts, that's my stance.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!You are Completely Missing The Point of my final gambit.
It was not me who was wrong... IT WAS THE WORLD!^_^; Your final gambit which I did not, in fact, see. Quit your show after ten episodes.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!*scratches back of neck* Not sure how many tears there would have been... I quit because I couldn't get terribly attached to any of the main players. Half of 'em I just wanted to strangle.
Well, that and there's no suspense to a suspense story when everyone goes around spoiling everything.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!You mean I wasn't an interesting enough main character to carry alll the show on my shoulders?
That said, while we have spoiled a couple of key events, I assure you, there is more than enough breathless plot to enjoy. Knowing about the wham moments only makes the rest of the series more tragic. The same way knowing the story makes watching Gurren Lagann MORE epic and Manly Tears inducing. TT_TT
It was not me who was wrong... IT WAS THE WORLD!
Well, come on; you're a terribly outward-focused person for an introvert. If you don't much like a protagonist's friends when their friends are a large part of their motivation (not to go all Brando on you or anything), even the most charming lead can become irksome.
Particularly when half the time all they do is remind you of what a shitty elder sister you are. *cough*
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Colloquial 'you'. Most people in general conversation use it in place of 'one'.
Although a Freudian would be very interested by how defensive you just got.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Heh. Advice from the guy with the sweetest and most considerate girl in the world for a sibling; thanks, just what I needed. -_-
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Actually, her public "uber genteel kindness" persona is a bit forced, just like mine. But you will found out she is a rutheless, decisive person... though I can't see her becoming any worse than Affably Evil: she has very good manners.
Still, she is loving and supportive. I hope you are as lucky.

1812? Is this another one of those alternate calendar things? -_- I hate having to reconcile those.
I may not trust the empire any further than I can pick the capital up and throw it, but I do tend to take authorial mandate on faith until they explicitly display untrustworthy traits. And considering Franklin's character derailment from the man we're familiar with over on this side, I'd say the splits have been going on for a while.
Anyway, I don't have any reason to trust what you say, either. It just pleases me to be polite.
And since when can you whammy someone without eye contact?
For that matter, just how bored are you?
