^....uh, are you talking about yourself, Suzaku, and Nunnally there? Cause that song just gave that whole dynamic a really weird implication.

Tumblr here.

^^^ Sometimes my people really perplex me. Do they not get what seme literally means? Suzaku as the responsible one in any relationship is something I just don't see happening, unless that relationship is parent-child with his hypothetical kid.

I mean, don't get me wrong, he's not childish. He's just a little... fluffy, if you know what I mean.

[up]Suzaku is about as subservient as can be. He needs an authority. Hell, he needs people to command him to love them.

[up][up] It's just a song, you should just relax. Thankfully, I've never been in this situation, although I can't say the same for my dear, dear uncle.

Suzaku's obedience to/dependence on others is his Fatal Flaw, and is explicitly the result of the emotional trauma from the incident with his father. It is an issue that he needs to overcome, and his Character Development pushes him that way. And he ends the series as effectively the most influential man in the world, the one whom others depend on as a leader, not a follower.

It's a counterpoint to Lelouch, whose flaws are that he's a control freak who refuses to rely on anyone other than himself, or even let those (outside a chosen few) even close. His development pushes him to realise how much he needs other people and to have more faith in others. And he ends up trusting in the good of free will instead of forcing it, letting Suzaku back into his trust, and handing over control to someone else.

That and people just like the reversal we saw in canon of effortlessly manipulative Lelouch being unable to manipulate Suzaku /the one person obedient Suzaku continually refuses to obey being Lelouch.

During my retirement, I have been able to read at leisure. To my great frustration, one of the most basic, simple rules of management, is "delegate". Which is not the same as "relinquish", but you get the idea. If only I had delegated more, perhaps much toil could have been avoided. Then again, the Black Knights started as a bunch of incompetent terrorists, and most of them were stupid and impulsive beyond belief, including Kallen: I mean, seriously, stabbing me to death in my bathroon? How did she intend to cover up for that?. Diethard was a blowhard who had to be kept on a leash. As for Todouh... I'm still not sure if his abilities as a strategist are anything more than Informed Ability.

And, seriously, why'd he refuse my offer the first time I met him as Zero? That... was that Plot Induced Stupidity?

Heh. Now I understand. What a moron. Right now I thought "He awed me his life". But that's percisely what he resented! This damn Death Seeker, I deprived him of his lifetime opportunity to get his Redemption Equals Death.

And then later, when Love Redeems seemed like the alternative, I stole that from him too. I wish I had a more appropriate macro but...

Still, that phone call was really hitting below the belt. What a... argh.

Yeah, destroying both his reason for living and his ability to die didn't exactly endear him to you. The fact the people he had started to win over now hated him for his loyalty to the Massacre Princess probably didn't help out there, chum.

(The funny thing is that Nunnally probably ended up happy about the phone call, since she knew you were still alive and well.)

Why do you have to be so suspicious? That final thought genuinely made me happy... and sad at the same time, since right now I am unable to tell her that I am actually alive.

But, when I think of Nunnaly's happiness... somehow, I feel it was all Worth It. All of it. "Subete wa DivaNunnaly no tame ni  *

". Call it Moral Myopia.

That would be irrelevant if it was only that, romantic misfortune. However, I do not live in a Shoujo. I'm not just a rich boy who rapesseduces poor girls into his trap. My love life used to be a matter of life and death. If only I was as good at girls as James Bond... lives could have been saved.

Yeah, 'cause we all know 007 was a whiz at keeping chicks from dying or mysteriously disappearing by the time the next movie came out...

Seriously, kid, don't beat yourself up about it; you're good-looking. That means you've never had any compelling reason to learn how to be charming or read signals. Victim of circumstances and the whim of the writer. It happens.

Yeah, Bond is not a good example to take after. He has worse overall statistics than you do.

But really, intentionally keeping one's distance from people does not good social skills make. No wonder girls (or not girls...) always had to make the first move.

That reminds me. Did you learn our English or are you working with a translator? Considering the numerous divergence points between our histories thanks to the presence of the Geass in your world (or alternatively the possession of such abilities by different people than the ones who received them here) I'm willing to bet your mother tongue is functionally a completely different language from ours.

If not you've no excuse for your shoddy spelling but your vaunted laziness!

... I am enjoying this far, far too much. XD It's like being a self-insert.

I am glad I can provide you with an entertaining experience.

The spelling was an accident. But remember our languages have only started diverging from 1812 a.C. on. And do you really trust Britannian records? In a world with Geass?

[up]It seems my awesome Presence and Manipulation stats have overtaken the scene... But, since when were you under the impression I haven't geassed all of you to be my devoted entertainers... and psychanalysts?

I dunno, at times you don't seem all that happy with the things we have been saying. (Mentions of homoerotic subtext ahoy!)

But when it comes to psychoanalysis, there's a lot to work with on you. Let's face it, you don't just have issues, you have volumes.
