I used to believe when I was around 7 that Hannah Montana (the fictional character) was a real life person, who killed herself after her show ended.

Working on Sandbox. The Amazing Race TV Tropes Edition.I used to believe bunnies were a separate species from rabbits, like hares.
Check out my forum game: Rate the above YMMV.There’s a line in the read-along book of Toy Story 2 that says, “New Buzz thought he’d found an ally and jumped into the car.” When I was young, I thought that meant that New Buzz thought there was an alley inside Al’s Toy Barn because the toys were driving a toy car around there!
Not necessarily dumb but it is something I believed as a kid. I thought the plot of Five Nights at Freddie's was that a kid had taken a bet that he had to hang out in an abandoned, supposedly haunted pizza place for five nights. Needless to say, that was not the plot. Would make a pretty cool fan game, though.

Funnily enough, I also had a misinterpretation of the game's plot, though mostly because I didn't even see the game, I was just told about it by my older brother. Regardless, I thought that you were in an abandoned house and trying to hold off killer toys (not even full size animatronics, just small toys that are somehow able to kill adults who could crush them underfoot)

Oh yeah, I had a similar experience too. I remember watching the Living Tombstone FNAF 2 Song without any knowledge of the series and I interpreted the part in the middle of the music video where Purple Guy took off the Bear Costume and killed all the Kids in the room to be that the games were about Animatronics had like scary monsters inside them that would escape the suits and kill you and it absolutely scarred me for like a month before I got into the franchise

"...This is too much information for a brain that just wants to visit Planet Tensuns..."Growing up my dad would always complain about having a higher electric bill when you left a room without turning out the lights. Somehow from this I had concluded that electric bills were itemized to the point that it told you how long every individual electric device was used over the course of the month.
I didn't know what "Smash" meant so when I played Smash of Pass with my friends I thought we were literally talking about smashing people's faces with a hammer.

Damn that's kinda dark ngl, especially since it came from a 7-year-old

CG for shortI saw a truck that said "non-potable water" on it. Not knowing that word, I thought it said "non-portable water", and wondered how they could transport it in a truck if it's not portable.

Lol, I think everyone thought it meant extraterrestrials. I mean, that's the first definition of "alien" we learn.

My cousin and I watched Angelina Ballerina : the Next Steps as a kid, and it was the episode where Alice and Gracie had "the sniffles". We'd never heard that expression before, but we did know that Alice was a Big Eater, so for some reason we concluded that "the sniffles" was a condition mice got if they were too hungry.
