certainly looks epic thats for sure. Yeah, Sinestro is obviously being saved for a possible sequel. I just hope they dont do the Jordan possessed by Parallax story. It was awesome, but I dont think a trilogy could tell that story.

Theres sex and death and human grime in monochrome for one thin dime and at least the trains all run on time but they dont go anywhere.

[up][up] No such story. The story of Parallax was the story of a good man falling when he suffered unimaginable loss.

I have to admit, I loved the aftermath of the Parralax story and how Hal eventually became The Spectre. To me, thats when both both Hal and the Spectre were at their most interesting. Not to mention the Hal Jordan Spectre books had some of THE most beautiful covers. On the other hand, even if you don't like the "cop-out" you have to admire how the writers were able to change something so drastically and manage to make it fit. That Cop-out led to the creation of the entire emotional spectrum of Lanterns.

I don't know much about the dedicated fandom but from the comments on You Tube about the most recent trailer people are starting to get really excited, largely because the visual effects are looking pretty epic and in general the whole thing looks faithful to the comics. The earlier trailers looked rather sitcom-ish "I know! Right!" with the only beam of hope being Hal's accidental "giant fist" against the thugs.

That brief clip of who I can only assume is Carol Ferris made me realize Catwoman is still the only female supervillain to headline a major superhero movie ( oh wait, there was Poison Ivy in that movie never speak of it again): I wonder if people will still go up in arms over a male hero having a titanic dramatic battle against a female supervillain: even in comics you generally don't have characters having an A-List archenemy who is the opposite gender (or a different race for that matter, but that's a horse of a different color).

I lovelovelovelovelove the fun they're having with his constructs. I know the Anti-Artillery gun is a new one, and I think that for a brief moment I saw him doing a chainsaw.

Dare I say it, this could be my favorite movie of the summer!

And my current plastic Green Lantern ring may not be good enough. I may actually have to buy one of the toys they currently have in stores so I can get my hands on a movie replica ring. That or look into seeing if there are any spares out there anywhere I can get my hands on.

That is probably one of the biggest fears people would have with the movie, that they'll just do generic and budget saving energy powers rather than creative constructs. That's the biggest complaint of John Stewart in the first season of Justice League. I think everyone likes the almost-but-not-quite goofy things the Green Lanterns can do with their powers, like in Green Lantern First Flight where he made a giant shoe and a can of bug spray to deal with insect aliens giving him trouble.

The flamethrower, the AA gun, the giant fist and the swords and chainsaw duel we see with Sinestro are what is getting everyone excited. I would love to see Hal Jordan playing golf with the yellow battery in live action.

I thought that it made sense that John Stewart would make Boring Yet Practical constructs. It fits his character.

True, but orbs and beams are a bit too boring for even him.

There is something to be said for simple energy bubbles and cutting beams being enough to get the job done, but he never actually made any constructs. A vehicle goes flying off a bridge and he envelopes it with energy rather than catching it using, for instance, a giant barbeque tong. They did address his issues in season two that thinking outside the box is where the real power of a green lantern ring comes from, so not utilizing constructs actually made him weaker as a Green Lantern.

The use of constructs is supposed to be an extension of the individuals personality; it's one thing to be efficient and another to be boring, and Stewart wasn't boring.

Honestly, I consider the excess elaborate construct formation to be silver age cruft, by and large. Yes, you *can* use a GL ring to make elaborate constructs, but unless you are an artist like Kyle Rayner, I see no real reason why you *should*.

The more thought you put into it, the more of your willpower it takes and the stronger it is. That's what I've always felt, anyway.

In the link for the trailer given in the previous page, I read upon a Youtube comment. Yes, Youtube comments are often stupid yet this one was not just stupid; it was stupid and funny:

"in fattest form, in clothes so tight

no doughnut shall escape my sight

Let those who eat all day and night

beware my ass so large and white!!!"

However, I do not get the context. Any ideas?

I think I did something last night...

i actually like the VFX, it gives a sort of "real life stepping into Pixar" which i think works well with a man entering the core, also like that sinestro starts good, Batman Brave and Bold did that well...in fact has Sinestro gone evil yet in BBB?
