Maybe that's where the rumored Welling cameo figures in: the ring scans him as a potential candidate.
Which is hilarious, because it would imply that anyone on Smallville is worthy of tying their own shoes, let alone possessing a cosmic weapon.
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comActually I heard that a cameo of John Stewart
was in this movie, possibly setting up his role in future films. The human Green Lanterns aren't really legacy characters, so they could easily star alongside Hal.
Of course, this guy could also just be a very bored extra, so who knows.
I personally would love it if there were a few shout outs to the other human lanterns like Alan Scott. Then again, I'm just a massive geek so please ignore me. That being said, I'm surprised just how cool they've made Sinestro look. I mean, just look at the guy. Making a red, lanky David Niven looking dude cool was never going to be easy. I think they did it well.
Theres sex and death and human grime in monochrome for one thin dime and at least the trains all run on time but they dont go anywhere. The biggest thing this movie has going for it is the combination of glitzy CG effects and old-school make-up, animatronics and props. Abin Sur looks amazing as well as Sinestro. No matter how polished CG looks, you can still tell it's CG (That's basically my feelings on Avatar). Chosing when and where to use which technique adds a great deal of class and it's the subtle things that really surprise you, like Hal's eyes progressively becoming white when he first speaks the oath.
This would be the ideal spot for a whole load of GL cameos. They could do it in that short Duck Dodgers cartoon, surely they can do it in a feature-length film? You're going to have Green Lanterns moving by in the background, it might as well be people everyone recognizes.
And yes, I badly want this movie to not suck, although I fear the worst, as always.
It hoards Tv Tropes' common insanities.I don't think the movie will suck but I feel the same way. I really want to see Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool (for more than a single scene, anyway)

The (I think) CGI uniform is incredibly distracting, as is the (I think) CGI mask. They are CGI, right?
I'll turn your neocortex into a flowerpot!- sigh* Why? Was it really that troublesome to just make a traditional costume? :P

Did somebody call my name? Yes. I am a Green Lantern.
John Stewart might be nice for a cameo, as no doubt they're going to be keeping this series with Hal.
