Knowing what he's done to Casca the idea he has a plan for her is a horrifying thought.
Well, I don’t think Griffith is planning to do something awful to her − maybe because I don’t imagine Miura wanted to throw her back into the pits of hell the minute she managed to climb out of it.
Otherwise, I’m relieved Guts had enough lucidity and self-control to stop that massive sword swing just in time.
I mean that's Gut's character in a nutshell - struggling not only against fate but his inner turmoil. I don't think he's gonna go full-on Black Swordsman personality again but he was content with Casca having regained her sanity even if he couldn't be near her. But now Griffith is going to take Casca away from him once again
This is probably going to push Guts to gain more power, which won't be good for him mentally and spiritually, through the Berserker Armor
I've felt for a while that maybe the way to take the Godhand down would be something similar to how the Occuria were dealt with in Final Fantasy XII - they technically survive because overpowering them simply isn't an option, but the heroes eventually find a way to permanently cut their connection to the mortal realm, meaning they can't dick with humans anymore.
Though then again, something certainly got rid of the other four from the previous generation...

Griffith just swooping in and kidnapping Casca does kinda feel cheap as a way to progress the story, but I'm gonna reserve judgement until I see where exactly this is going.
I dont think we've seen enough to be able to judge the new writing yet, but the artwork had pretty much nothing that felt off to me this chapter.
Just for fun, made a "death odds prediction pool
◊" for the final arc.
Well, that'll definitely end the Elfhelm arc alright

Griffith really won't let Guts be happy... I expected something to happen that would get Guts to fall back into his vengefulness and leave Elfhelm but did not expect Griffith would kidnap Casca at all. Maybe it's because of the influence of the Moonlight Child on Griffith?
