That's you're prerogative. But in my honest opinion, you really shouldn't turn away from a game just because it has a male protagonist. What games have you been playing if a male protagonist is a no go for you, if you don't mind me asking?

Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2...In that case, I'll say this: I have yet to play a game from Compile Heart that devolved into that, except Mugen Souls' reverse harem, except that was the joke.

Agarest War does not have a harem option though.

Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2You forgot about Trinty Universe and Cross Edge, both made by Compile, and both have male protagonist.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2
Oh yeah, forgot about those. Those were a waste of time. Cross Edge more than Trinity Universe.
EDIT: Okay, I'll add an IMO. And yeah, Trinity Universe was a stepping stone for Hyperdimension Neptunia, and I guess Cross Edge might be a stepping stone for Record of Agarest War 2 (simplified the battle system), but the games themselves were kind of boring and repetitive. The characters were fun though.

Objection
◊! (I didn't make that image but I soo wanted to use it). I enjoyed those games and besides, Trinity Universe, if memory serves me right, was Compile's first all 3D game. And without Trinity Universe as a stepping stone I don't think they would of made Neptunia.
Double Posting for the screenshots from Neptunia Rebirth
, staring Noire with glasses. Persona crossover in 3 2 ...

People here probably won't like me for this... but I don't really like Fairy Fencer F's premises (male protagonist)... and thus am unlikely to spend any money on this game.
As for Neptunia I'm skipping the Idol game... and possibly getting the Noire and Re Birth one.
