Yep. They seem to try to do everything in house, unless it has a pre-existing dub, such as with Oblivion Island.
Lesse:
Sonic X: Infamously other darrin'd the entire SA cast, even when Ryan Drummond offered to move to NY to reprise his role as Sonic. Though, the games did eventually switch to the 4kids cast for a while.
F Zero GP Legend: Used a completely different cast from GX, far as I can tell.
Star Ocean Second Story: Used a completely different cast, at least according to wikipedia.
Sengoku Basara: I know Johnny Yong Bosch reprised his role as Yukimura, while Robert Mcollum replaced Reuben Langdon as Date Masamune. Not sure about everyone else though.
Devil May Cry The Animated Series: Only Reuben Langdon reprised his role, all the other game characters were replaced by regular Geneon actors.
Tales Of Vesperia The First Strike: Troy Baker (who works with Funimation semi-regularly) and Sam Riegal reprised their roles as Yuri and Flynn respectively, everyone else was replaced by a Funi regular.
Viewtiful Joe: Used a completely different cast.
Sands Of Destruction: Ditto.
Blue Dragon: An odd case in that while both the game and anime used the same pool of actors, not all of them reprised their game role.
Persona 4 The Animation: Used the same cast for the most part. Only Chie, Naoto, and Teddie's actors were replaced, and Kanji's was replaced halfway through.
Going by history, it really depends on how popular the game is, as well as actor availability. At the very least, we can hope for Melissa Fahn to come back as Neptune, since Funi at least has the main character get their previous actor even if the rest of the original cast don't reprise their roles (see Trigun Badlands Rumble).
So Funi got streaming rights for this? Didn't see that coming. At all. Either way, I'm still hyped for this.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2From what I read, Funimation tends to go in-house to save on costs — one glaring case of this is Shakugan No Shana (3 seasons plus some OVAs). But at least they retained the Blue Water cast for Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail (since it's just one OVA).

Didn't they get the original cast back for Hellsing Ultimate 5-8 too?
Double Posting, stuff. I would have waited till Thurday for Fairy Fencer f news but I can't hold this in.
That Neptunia comic page I linked
◊ to a while backthat had a Teen Peashy, someone colored it
.
Also, remember on April first when Compile pulled an advertisement for Neptune's Console
◊? Apparently, it was half true
(go down 3 post on that). I'm curious if it actually runs.
The Fairy Fencer f site has updated with screen shots (seen here
). We have a new fairy and a new fencer
. Their names are Effole (right) and Karin (left). Their description were translated by Zazza345.
CV: Emi Nitta [Honoka in Love Live!]
"...Kill. Kill Kill Kill"
A Fencer who attacks Fang.
A taciturn girl, cruel like a machine.
Her Fairy partner, Karin, is interpreting her words.
CV: Ayaka Oohashi
"Oh, I was late with my introduction, I'm Effole's Fairy, Karin is my name. By the way, I also serve as interpreter."
Effole's Fairy partner.
A gentle, easygoing person.
The spokesperson of Effole who only says "Kill"...
Double posting for the usual Thursday Fairy Fencer f update. Two things. One, the main site updated
. Two, magazine scans show something close to HDD in this game
◊. Is HDD becoming a Compile staple along with fan service? Speaking of fan service, I'm noticing a big lack of fan service with Fairy Fencer f. Compile usual would have thrown a fan service cg when they promote a new game. Maybe they want to make a clean game this time.

Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2There's apparently a complete remake coming fairly soon for the Vita, so either way you're better off either waiting it out or dabbling in the other games; in fact, I saw the second game being sold for less than the first in one of my local Gamestops, despite having a generally better reception mechanics-wise.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyHonestly, I can't imagine that you'd like any of the Neptunia series. It's... Japanese-ness aside, they really don't seem like your kind of games (not that I now every single thing about your tastes). They (mk2, at least, since that's the only one I played) are surprisingly good for what they are an by whom they were made and I consider mk2 one of the best JRPGs in this generation. But this really says more about modern JRPGs. It's certainly not MegaTen.
However, while I never played it myself, I can't say that I saw mixed things about the first game. I only saw negative things. It's even reviled among many Neptunia fans. Not something I would consider buying and 25 still seem too much for it.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.![]()
So the Vita version will get localized?
Pretty sure I asked around about this a lot already, but for some reason I'm still nervous that it might not be localized.

"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueDude. Aside from Disgaea, it's NIS America's biggest source of income.
You're damn well sure it's coming, whether they've announced it already or not. Remember, all previous releases in the series took until the next summer to come out in English, only being announced shortly prior to then, so don't be impatient.

Thank god. The wait isn't that much for me, as long as it's actually localized. I need mah fanservice RPG game.
Well, it's Thursday so it's time for a Fairy Fencer f update. First off, an article from Siliconera
. Second of all, the main site
updated today with two new characters, a bishonen and is fairy which is a robot. When the translations for them show up I'll edit them in.

I can just imagine the response if there is a Toonami airing.
"Why are there no guys in this? Why do those girls look kind of young? Why is the Xbox one so lazy? What the heck is a Neptune?"
