I too feel this is a total ripoff. No Super Mario World, and not only that, but we're just getting the SNES versions of several NES games? Even the GBA remake of Super Mario Bros. 2 added more content, and we're not getting that!
This is not even a remake, just emulation of an SNES game with nothing added, as far as I can tell. Should be $10 or maybe a bit more on the Virtual Console.
actually when you think about it. each NES virtual console game is 5 bucks with 6 from lost worlds making it $21. with the C Ds and booklet just a little more. and it's the SNES versions. but i would've liked SMW on it.
I want flies in on a dragons!Though I partially like The Lost Levels version found in All Stars (The Fake Difficulty is reduced), I don't like the physics in SMB 1 or Lost Levels.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.I rather dislike playing the SNES remakes for this reason. This thing is a total waste, especially without Super Mario World.
Hell, it should have been the NES games (perhaps with the original Japanese Mario 2 and/or the GBA Mario 2 USA as unlockables?), Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island (even though I can't stand it), and perhaps even an updated Mario 64. Quite a joke, this one.
Cynics are optimists that have become used to disappointment.
We can get all of those except Super Mario Advance and Yoshi's Island on the Virtual Console. If anything, you should be complaining about the fact that Super Mario All-Stars isn't an $8 purchase on the Virtual Console.
First of all, I'm not complaining; I wouldn't buy it regardless.
Second of all, as mentioned, all of the games in this collection are already on the virtual console, so that's quite beside the point. If you're going to make a collection despite this, you should make it a half decent one, not the lesser of two versions that came out over fifteen years ago.
Cynics are optimists that have become used to disappointment. The reason why it doesn't have Super Mario World is because that version of the game wasn't actually released anywhere except North America and Europe. That version was only released with the SNES console where it replaced Super Mario World as the pack-in game.
The point is that this collection isn't actually meant to be bought for the game, but instead bought for its collector's value like Metroid Prime Trilogy or Zelda: Collector's Edition.

Wizard Needs Food BadlyITT: People forget that not all people have access to Wi-Fi, and by proxy, the Virtual Console.
Seriously, for people like me, collections like this are a godsend.
I figure there isn't a Mario World on there because it's already on the virtual console. I'm still getting it regardless of the fact i have the NES mario 1 and 3. I'd still like the SNES versions and the C Ds
I want flies in on a dragons! It's in a metal case, has an art booklet and was discontinued soon after its release. That's going to definitely add to its collector's value. Don't get me wrong, but while the Metroid Prime subseries are great games, Metroid Prime Trilogy is meant for collectors.
Well that and the whole New Play Control stuff flopped badly. I mean of the New Play Control stuff, I only have Metroid Prime Trilogy and Pikmin and I got Pikmin for $15 and did not own the game previously.

Wizard Needs Food BadlyThere is something I wonder since I read of this on the Mario wiki, one or two months ago: Will this even come out in America and Europe (of course, I'm actually only interested in an European release, but if doesn't come out in America it looks bleak for Europe too)?
Yes, I know that nearly every remake and re-release came out in the west, but still I'm not overly confident. At least I try not too.
Also, I would never buy games just for the collector value. I buyed the Prime Trilogy for the games and nothing else.

People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.I own it on SNES, but...maybe it'd be worth buying for that book. I mean, the Mega Man Complete Works book was around that price, right?

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!! I recently heard that a new Mario all-stars is coming out on the wii! sure it's just gonna be the SNES rom on a wii disc but it's coming with a book and CDs. read about it here
