We only know about cortexiphan thanks to Fringe, who knows how many other drugs remain classified. Tropers could be the result of a clandestine drug experiment.

You are quite correct, now hear my words, this will seem strange, you will not accept it at first. Normally i would call you all "sheeple" but you will soon come to realize my words,and it will be oh so right. As we are one and the same, the harbinger...of a new race.

It is widely known that in 1945 after the climax of WWII, the U.S. and Soviets quickly snatched (yo people up) up Nazi rocket scientists to set the stage of the space race.

BUT IS THAT ALL? NO! The Nazi rocket scientists were actually plants by the fourth reich in exile. Old officers and scientists escaped to South America where they waited to rebuild their glorious reich. Chief among them is Josef Mengele, the Angel of Death, SS officer and noted mad scientist. Mengele conducted most of his experiments on twins, he was obsessed with them. And in secret he made his most important breakthrough. The ability for humans to replicate via fission thus making him and his comrades immortal!

He gave this secret to the most loyal members of the reich, they replicated and voila they had a double! Their doubles were executed and left for the authorities to find. Now, the leadership of the fourth reich was truly invisible. they traveled north and captured a radio station, after an hour of Justin Beiber to force their listeners to tune out, they broadcasted a message, incoded in a cipher that has never been broken, to their men in the Soviet Union. The time is now!

You see, the fourth reich realized that their thin numbers were insufficient for creating the master race, thus came Mengele's greatest triumph. Under cover of requesting raw materials, the rocket scientists received a "special" delivery. Under cover of night they infiltrated clinics, hospitals, commercial grocery stores, and left a little "something special to the concoctions" Chemical X in prenatal vitamins, vaccinations, and supplements.

These agents altered the physiological development of the embryos, creating a specific type of person, one of intelligence, of drive, of unrest. Identical to their fellow man they spread through the world, living, thriving, searching. Driven by something they did not understand. They were given neurosis, mental illness, atrophied social skills, markers. These markers isolated them from those unfit, they found solitude among their fellows, those with the same view, those they could emphasize with, thus they found TV tropes a writing website where each would be accepted by their own, a congregation, a gathering.

Make us whole!

We will board the space craft, and we will enter our chrysali, inside we will shed our disguises, of race, age, and indecision, our human masks, and we will emerge as golden beings, the first of a new species, of perfection, beauty, and light. We arrive on our Eden, the red planet, and forge it to our will, create things that have never been seen by human eyes, and never will, we will breed and raise our army, an army to end all armies, and we shall smite the Earth dwellers, because they smoke, and Nazi's are anti-smoking.

This is very interesting, but I have a small nitpick. Troper citizenship isn't restricted to a few people. Are you saying there's a gene for liking TV Tropes and somebody has managed to package other experimental genetics WITH it? Nobody else I know shares my interest with wikis. This is exciting!

In a way, puella_magi_persona. I think that the Troper race was split into a bunch of groups. Each group got a certain gene - no, trope - set.

Never even noticed this forum 'til now.
